the Obama Administration will deny [Taiwan] new F-16 fighters. As Defense News puts it, the Obama Administration’s decision came as a result of “bowing to Chinese pressure.”--Defense News quoted at MoonBattery
It's not just Taiwan that takes it in the neck.
A financial analysis firm, the Perryman Group, had estimated that the Taiwan purchase would have created more than 16,000 jobs and $768 million in federal tax revenue
Buffett will write a check for the $768 million. But he won't employ those 16,000 workers, will he?

Come now, Dad29, you can't always believe what you read! A bloated estimate. Hard data? Real figures? Please, enlighten me. Besides, would those jobs be guaranteed to find their way to America, or would the company building the jets outsource them for labor and tax purposes? Bowing to Chinese pressure? That's partisan blather. Easy for bloggers to make such bold statements.
The F-16 line is in Fort Worth, I think. You can't readily tool up a line to produce a fighter aircraft.
Of course, that'd be jobs for Texas, and I have recently learned that Texas has far too many jobs right now.
