Behavior Control--Presidential Style

Not surprisingly, Obama intends to reverse a number of GWB executive orders.

Also not a surprise--he will target innocent human lives, here and abroad.

Policies Obama is expected to reverse:

A limit on federal funding of embryonic stem cell research.

A rule barring international family-planning groups that receive U.S. aid from counseling women about the availability of abortion.

(Everyone except Doug Kmiec, a lawyer who claims to be Catholic but who stridently advocated the election of Obama, knew those were coming. We're waiting for Kmiec to object, but not holding our breath.)

Obama is also expected to reverse this one:

The Bush administration's decision to deny California the authority to regulate carbon dioxide emissions from automobiles

The reason Bush issued that EO was simple. Envirowacky Theory states that CO2 is the leading cause of manmade 'global warming.' This is utterly devoid of scientific foundation. In addition, the Big Three simply could not meet the California standards without adding significantly to the price of automobiles. They lobbied hard to avoid imposition of this asinine rule on themselves.

In brief, the California standards were a big cost without a real benefit.

However, the Big Three (or Big 2.175) are now in deep financial doodoo--and they are rent-seeking about $50Bn in "loans" from the Federal taxpayers.

They can no longer object to imposition of costs, or they will not get the $50Bn.

It's called 'behavior modification.' You may survive, if you comply with our agenda.

It is almost precisely what Doyle did to Wisconsin electric utilities. Those utilities have been told to shut up about "costs" of EnviroWacky Theories, or Doyle would make life difficult for them.

So here's the deal. You will pay more for automobiles--a LOT more--just like you Wisconsin residents will pay a LOT more for electricity.

Und you vill like it, gehr st'eh?
