"We Spy On YOU!!" Act Up for Renewal

More fun coming in the next couple of weeks!

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is aiming to vote on reauthorizing and potentially reforming deep state powers next week, according to a report....

...The bill would largely mirror a bill drafted by Intelligence Committee Republicans, and Judiciary Committee members and other privacy “hawks” would then be allowed to offer amendments, including one that would require a warrant before searching Americans’ private information under Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA)
....

The Intel Committee heavily favors Big Brother Government.  Need an example?  Here:

...The Biden administration has confirmed that terms like “MAGA,” “Trump,” and “Kamala” were included in the push by federal investigators for banks to surveil private financial transactions following the Jan. 6, 2021 protests at the U.S. Capitol, a letter obtained by Fox News Digital reveals....The letter, sent Friday from the Treasury Department to Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., the top Republican on the Senate Banking Committee, notes that “Exchange events” convened by its Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, or FinCEN, “began shortly after January 6 under the prior Administration,” and “included terms such as ‘antifa,’ ‘MAGA,’ ‘Trump,’ ‘Biden,’ ‘Kamala,’ ‘Schumer,’ and ‘Pelosi.’”...

"Under the prior Administration"?  Sure.  No doubt.

However, some ante-deluvian Congressmen want to force Big Brother to (gasp!!!!) *GET A WARRANT* before they riff through your phone calls, emails, and letters or plant listening devices in your home, car, and office.  Those Congressmen think that the Constitution's Fourth Amendment still applies in the USA.

NSA and CIA have surprises for them.

There's another issue:

...It remains unclear if there will be a fix for the so-called “data broker loophole” that allows intelligence agencies, law enforcement agencies, and other agencies to purchase Americans’ private data through data brokers, which privacy advocates believe is a run around the Fourth Amendment.

“Intelligence agencies need a court order to obtain your data directly.
But as usual, they look for any way to avoid scrutiny and skirt the law. The Deep State will go to any length to spy on the American people. The entire enterprise is rotten,” Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC) said....

You'll be able to tell which Congressmen have dirt in their backgrounds by the vote(s) they take on this matter.

Worth watching!
