More on Public-Union Benefits

A friend of mine is administering the affairs of one of his relatives.  The relative retired from the City of Milwaukee Police Department and is now in a nursing home.

Every month, he reviews drug billings from the third-party administrator.

This month he learned that municipal retirees are only liable for HALF the co-pay that private-sector retirees pay for drugs.  As you might imagine, this adds up quickly.

We note that the Milwakee Police union is unhappy about their new health plan.

Why?

Didn't I hear there's a bill in the state legislature that would prevent localities from providing post-retirement insurance? Gotta love that local control.

If it was local *control*, rather than local *collusion*, I'd be a lot happier.
