ISM and Employment


Ritholtz made a chart which is VERY useful.

Here he compares the ISM (Manufacturing) Index to employment. To make the representation above, he pushed employment numbers ahead by 7 months, which was the typical lag.

Then he worries, b/c while the ISM is now beginning to get tired, we are still seeing quite a hole in employment.
