Heard this on the radio last night--unable to verify (yet.)
Evidently Sen. John McCain proposed that the 'illegal combatant/terrorists' held by the US should be allowed to use classified evidence obtained by the US to defend themselves in military-court proceedings. If enacted, that would prevent the US from trying these cases, as it's not likely that such information will be released to an enemy combatant (whether legal or not.)
McCain's a turkey, no doubt. He doesn't have ANY use for the First Amendment, has almost no use for the Second Amendment--but he's apparently willing to grant anti-US terrorists a "right" to use classified info.
One wonders if McCain has some sort of disease...
