Doyle to Inject $2.6Billion into State Treasury

..well, at least that's what his people want us to believe...

The long-term state budget deficit is estimated to be $2.6 billion by mid-2009, according to projections by the state Legislative Fiscal Bureau. Normal growth in tax collections will reduce that number, and the Doyle administration expects the budget to be balanced by the end of the biennium, said Doyle spokesman Matt Canter.

Is there another $1Bn or so in the highway trust fund that nobody knows about?
