Parse. Parse. Parse.
Marotta, who headed the Department of Administration when the contract was awarded in March 2005, told the Journal Sentinel in October that he had not had any contact with the company [Adelman Travel] after the bid process officially started in December 2004.
Records introduced in the trial show phone calls were exchanged between Marotta's office and Adelman Travel when the state decided to use a "best and final" process to decide whether to go with Adelman or Omega World Travel, a company that had narrowly beaten Adelman in the initial bid considerations.
It's entirely possible, of course, that Marotta did not PERSONALLY speak with Adelman Travel "after the bid process officially started."
OK, Marc.
