More "Deferred Maintenance" in MKE County??

 The questions no "reporters" ask....

Judges at the Milwaukee County Courthouse are calling for an immediate replacement for the nearly 100-year-old safety building at the Milwaukee County Courthouse as extreme heat disrupts operations and threatens the legal process.

On Wednesday, as outdoor temperatures reached 93 degrees, conditions inside the courthouse safety building were nearly as hot.

“It is 95 degrees in the courtroom, you are sweating through your clothes, you can barely concentrate,” Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Laura Crivello said....

... County leaders have proposed tearing down and replacing the safety building, a project estimated to cost nearly $900 million. They are seeking state assistance to reduce the financial burden on taxpayers, warning that delays will only increase costs....

Oh.  So sad.  (Imagine the tortures of judges, juries, lawyers, and criminals from the awful Days Before Air Conditioning!  One is led to believe that there was NO justice done back then!!)

What an enterprising young fellow like T J Dysart should be doing today?  Asking a lot of questions about WHY a near-$1 BILLION teardown/new building is necessary.

We'll bet the answer is "Deferred Maintenance"--that is, County Board and County Exec deliberately ignoring critical maintenance-and-repair requests over the last 20-30 years.  HINT:  Scott Walker is famous for this.

They want tax money from Oconomowoc, Rhinelander, and Suamico, and they have the nerve to say that State taxpayer money "reduces the burden on taxpayers"?

Milwaukee:  Earning the title "Money Pit of Wisconsin" every day.
