"Illegal" Means "Illegal," PLUS LOLs!!

Plenty of Politic-Slop up for translation here.

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed ICE agents arrested 39 people across Wisconsin over the weekend, a sweep drawing backlash from immigration advocates and families of people detained....

Translation:  DHS did its job.  Local screechers were activated for the cameras.

... Munoz-Sosa said her husband came to the United States from Mexico when he was 4 years old. She said his passport expired in September, but he was in the process of getting his legal status processed....

Translation:  He filled out a form at the Voces de la Frontera office a month ago.

Speaking of Voces....

...Voces disputed ICE's characterization of the arrests.

"The overwhelming majority that have no criminal record whatsoever," said Christine Neumann-Ortiz, executive director for Voces de la Frontera....

Translation:  "We do not give a flying f**k about your law!"

Now comes the "Laugh Out Loud" part of this story.

... "Some of this activity took place at a city of Milwaukee police station. We didn’t believe it. We couldn’t believe it. We were in shock. Yes, our response was: no, this can’t be, because we have the ice-out package that says that cannot happen on city of Milwaukee property," said Milwaukee Alderwoman Marina Dimitrijevic....

Translation:  "Are the cameras on?  Do I look OK for the cameras??  OK, then, show me stamping my widdle feets and waving my fist."

More?  Sure!!  We have more!!

... People arrested also reported ICE agents were masked. A Milwaukee ordinance bans law enforcement from masking in many situations. MPD said, given legal questions, the department has asked the city attorney's office for a formal, written legal opinion on the ordinance....

Translation:  "The MPD would rather be in Philadelphia.  Meantime, we'll ask the City Attorney to spend 60-90 days (or more, pretty please?) screwing around with their law-books because there is NO WAY IN HELL we will get in the way of ICE agents."

You don't have to be bi-lingual to render accurate translations.  You just have to read "politic-slop" accurately.
