Pp. Francis Finds a New "God"

We've grown accustomed to his farce.  --with apologies to Oscar Hammerstein II

Pope Francis told Muslim elders in Bahrain Friday that God is the source of peace and he “never brings about war, never incites hatred, never supports violence.”...

Oh.  

So are we to conclude that the Hebrew "God" is not the same as "God"?  

You know--that Hebrew God who told them to take the land of Canaan by force?  (Exodus 2)  The Hebrew God who assisted the Israelite army in defeating the Philistines?  (1 Samuel)  How about those poor old Amalekites? (Exodus 17)??

Huh.  There's a whole lot of theology that needs rewriting!
