Here's an issue for the next Governor of Wisconsin, and it's one which will definitely separate the men from the boys. (Think that's sexist? Go to Hell.)
Inflation is pushing price tags for University of Wisconsin System building projects millions of dollars higher than expected, leaving campus leaders with tough decisions to make on how to move forward on desperately needed facilities.
Gee. Is objective news supposed to include "desperately needed" as a compound adverbial phrase?
Moving on.....
The next Governor should help the UW System by ordering them to CLOSE a few campuses. This will relieve them from making "desperately needed" mistakes, which is something the UW System does rather often.
Enrollment is declining for two reasons: first and foremost, there are less kids in high school (and middle school, too!!) and second, the value proposition of college is shriveling for many of the remaining kids.
No kids? No "desperately needed" shiny new buildings!! Better yet: no enormous tax burden!
