It's aaaaaaalllllll RAAAAAAAAAAAAAYCISM!!
...The Badger State's stubborn gaps between Black and white birthing outcomes are no secret.
Fifteen Black infants died per 1,000 live births in 2017, the most recent year for which data has been published by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. That's more than double the state's average infant death rate and three times that of white infants. Black babies were also more likely to be born premature or at a low birth weight. ...
...Researchers are increasingly saying it's not individual behavior but structural inequity that drives these outcomes. Despite years of work by Black women-led organizations, the disparities are persisting — and in some cases, growing....
And a new "Pay at This Window" campaign for otherwise-unemployed!!
...[Evers] proposed Medicaid coverage for doulas, trained professionals who help families through childbirth and work with birthing parents to make sure their needs are met in the doctor's office, during labor and after the baby is born. ...
Wouldn't you love to see the cross-tabs on the "studies"? Like--for example--how many of the women are married? How many refuse to seek (or don't BOTHER to seek) early medical advice and treatment? What are the ages of the affected mothers? Do they bother with 'best diet' suggestions? Are there any drug problems?
Just sayin;....
Evers, of course, is pandering with his "doula" crapola. We know a lot of people who have had a lot of children. "Trained professionals" are not a substitute for husbands, sisters, and grandmas--except that Evers' payroll will expand and so will his guaranteed-voter base.
Not sorry to be a skeptic.
