That was BEFORE 'public-health experts' began mask REQUIREMENTS.

What EVER could cause citizens to 'disbelieve authority,' Dr. Fauci?

My brother is a surgeon - trauma and general surgery. He's given 3 tours of duty oversees (2 in Afghanistan and one in Iraq). You can call him a leading expert in trauma surgery and emergency preparedness for medical institutions.
He advises masks that we wear have very little value (largely psych value). When he goes into a patients room that has Covid (or other known contagious disease) he wears a positive pressure mask - NOT an M95. He uses M95 only when he's going into general visits and nothing is known about the patient. He advises the M95 does not protect against this or any virus as they are too small to be filtered. At best they contain droplets and larger particles from propagating further.
Look up filtration of the mask and the virus size. Or you can picture a small mouse going through your open door and that's the micro picture of the virus going through the holes in an M95 mask.
These masks are humiliation devices plain and simple.
I think the terms “slave muzzle” or “face diaper” when I see young adults in public wearing the latest in “surgical fashion”. I guess they think they are being virtuous and obedient. Humiliation device also seems to be a valid descriptor.
