The gun-grabber bunch has tried (and failed with) a number of excuses for their jackwaddery.
Now they're back to "Public Health Menace" language. That's so because the only way for them to prevail is to arouse some Federal support, and the only place where they can get Federal support will be from Centers for Disease Control, which is populated with Lefty wacko-birds just dying to get more taxpayer money so they can invent "health" problems associated with guns.
Naturally, the "health problem" they will find will be this: allowing guns to exist in the USA is "un-healthy" because criminals use guns to kill or hospitalize people. Well, then, Q.E.D., ban all guns!! Terms like 'instrument' will not be allowed in the discussion, nor in their "scientific" findings.
All you need is that One Weird Trick!!
They tried that gambit back in 2012, and it failed. They have resuscitated *cough* it for 2018, and it will fail again (sorry, Steve Hargarten, but your East Side Establishment Lefty Persona is showing.)
But they're willing to try, try, again.
