War Party Setback

The War Party--an eclectic mixture of (R) and (D) folks also known as NeoCons, don't really give a rip about the national mood.  In all likelihood, Obozo will jump in here with both feet. other people's boots.

But sensible people do.

...About 60 percent of Americans surveyed said the United States should not intervene in Syria's civil war, while just 9 percent thought President Barack Obama should act....

...25 percent of Americans would support U.S. intervention if Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's forces used chemicals to attack civilians, while 46 percent would oppose it. That represented a decline in backing for U.S. action since August 13, when Reuters/Ipsos tracking polls found that 30.2 percent of Americans supported intervention in Syria if chemicals had been used, while 41.6 percent did not....

The "To Hell With Them All" group is growing rapidly.

Frankly, if McCain, Graham, and Obozo want to intervene, let 'em.

But they should do it in person.  Anyone else who wants to go can follow them.  We'll pack a picnic basket for them.

I can't believe how stupid this War Party crowd is. Our interventions are rarely successful, and we always end up with unintended consequences coming back to bite us in the ass. Let the Syrians fight their own civil war! With any luck, the evil Muslims on both sides of the Syrian dispute will kill each other off. It is a true pity that so many innocent people suffer in these wars and under terrible regimes, but it is impossible for the U.S. to prevent and/or rectify all world suffering.
