Walker Needs a Refresher on ConLaw 101

It's kinda sad when you think about it:  Scott Walker does not understand the Constitution of the US.  (There is another possibility:  see below)

....after his speech I asked him what he thought about the effort by some Republican lawmakers to defund Obamacare.

“I think in the end, the only caution I put up is, I don’t think you should shut down the government for it,” Walker told me. “I think people, at least in my state, Republicans like me want less government, want limited government, but we want government that works, and I don’t think shutting things down makes anything work.”...

Scott, young man, you need a little lesson in the US Constitution.

See, the House of Representatives writes the budget.

Only the PRESIDENT can shut down the Gummint by vetoing said budget--no matter what was funded, or de-funded.

Which would you rather be, Scott?  A toadying suck-up to Party Bigs, or a Constitutional illiterate from 'tosa?

El Partido Republicano Legado likes, wants and needs Hugh Gubmint to be fully-funded in order to try to buy the support of their new base from south of hte non-existant border.

Having total command of the facts loses its relevance if you have absolutely no control over the message at the national level. Facts don't matter anymore, just perception... and that perception WILL BE that the Republican controlled House of Representatives shut down the federal government. There's slim comfort in knowing that you have the "facts" right as the world continues to go sideways. Walker still has to keep at least one foot in the real world.

"See, the House of Representatives writes the budget."

Then why did they insist that the Senate pass one in the last debt limit negotiation? Why won't they meet with the Senate to reconcile the two budgets?

Congress has passed the debt limit forever without any question and without any deals. Obama won't do any more deals because he does not want to set the precedent for the full faith and credit of the US to be held hostage to a lunatic minority party.

Republicans will be held responsible because they WILL BE responsible.

You might want to check this out.

You'll be reminded that the Senate is involved in there somewhere.

Take your bawl and go home. Constituents will remember your childish antics and send a new representative to take your place next year.
