On What Planet Does Bill Keller Live?

Yesterday we mentioned that Bill Keller, executive editor of the NYSlimes, was completely ignorant when making assertions about a book.

Now he's quoted thus:

...the executive editor of the New York Times, Bill Keller, concludes that “an unusually large number” of Republican candidates “belong to churches that are mysterious or suspect to many Americans.

Lemmeeesseeee, heah, Gomer....

Perry is a Methodist.  Bachmann is a Lutheran by birth, a non-denom Christian by conversion.  Santorum is a Catholic.  Cain is a Baptist.  Romney is a Mormon.  Paul?  Dunno.  Don't care.

(By the way, only the Left is playing the "weird cult Mormon" card.  Righties don't really give a rip.)

What IS clear is that the 3 or 4 largest denominations in the USA are "mysterious or suspect" to Bill Keller.

He ought to get out more.

And Jeremiah Wright is United Church of Christ. Nothing suspect there, right?

Agreed.

But what J Wright preached IS not only suspicious, but seditious.

For their entire lives, Romney and Huntsman have attended church services listening to elders denounce Catholic, Baptists, Lutherans, et al. Nope, nothing cult-like with that...

Leave Huntsman out of this. He's not going anyplace.

You'd have to demonstrate that Mormon elders/bishops spend all their pulpit-time flogging Christians; I don't think you have done so.

WELS ministers don't yap endlessly about the Anti-Christ Pope; they have better things to do. That's why most WELS members don't even know about the official position on the Pope.

Besides, I doubt they can denounce Baptists as fiercely as the other Baptists do.
