Budget Cuts? The Usual Threats Start

You'll see and hear more of this stuff.

Oakland's police chief is making some dire claims about what his force will and will not respond to if planned layoffs happen tonight at midnight.

Chief Anthony Batts listed exactly 44 situations that his officers no longer respond to and they include grand theft, burglary, vehicle collision, identity theft and vandalism. He says if you live and Oakland and one of the above happens to you, you need to let police know on-line.

Other "we don't give a rip" offenses include burglary, theft, grand theft, extortion, and check frauds.

So far, Wisconsin municipalities have not started cutting police forces, but it may happen as budgets continue to be stressed.

When it DOES happen, you can expect to hear similar crap from bigwigs--who happen to be the same people who oppose concealed-carry, as you recall.
