Desperately Seeking Relevancy

At some point in time, journalists will discover that they and Gingrich are fighting the last war, not the next one. Newt's become an easy-quote/relevance seeker.

Meantime, we get stuff like this, again and again:

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich predicted disaster for his party if the conservative wing of the GOP continues to field independent candidates to the right of the party’s nominee.

“If we get into a cycle where there are tea parties and there are conservative third-party candidates, we will make [Nancy] Pelosi speaker for life,” Gingrich told POLITICO in an interview Thursday, calling the practice “totally destructive
.”

OK, Newtie. We'll all just swoon at your maaaahhhhhhhhvelous wisdom.

Won't someone just tell Newt to go away.

I'm not against Newt, I'm against the logic that putting uninspiring RINOs up against liberals is going to energize the conservatives.

Once he figures out that WE, the conservatives, are the silent majority, then we will all unite.

The county party I'm with here in NC had a rather lively discussion about how Newt is a has-been. No real love or support for him in party circles - we just wish he would focus on his "ideas" stuff and stay out of the rest of it.
