Safe Squirrel Zone in Germantown

Squirrels are moving to Germantown to take advantage of the free food.

It's a Safe Squirrel Zone now:

Police last week issued a $172 ticket to a 73-year-old man who had been warned three times about shooting squirrels at his home.

The ticket was given July 22 to Ronald E. Riemer after a neighbor told police he had heard gunfire and saw two squirrels that had been killed in Riemer's yard.

According to a police report, Riemer acknowledged shooting squirrels, saying they damage his garden and eat bird food.

The article does not state whether the neighbor gave the squirrels a proper burial.

Perhaps they should send the squirrel bodies to New Jersey ?

Sounds like a good idea. Feed the hungry, etc., yada.

That almost makes it a DUTY for that Germantown guy.

My Gamo 1000 pops its .17s at 1000 fps, no noise to speak of.

Iron-sighted it will give me a shot group of <1" at 15 yards.
