Kohl, Feingold Foul Selves on S.1 "Ethics" Bill

Following the unconscionable vote of Cong. Ryan and Sensenbrenner (and lots of other Members of the Party In Government), Sens. Kohl and Feingold also voted for the "Ethics" bill, S.1.

It's possible that GWB will veto it. Don't hold your breath.

Despite the spinning done by the MSM on the bill, the AP/JS account revealed the real reason this piece of crap passed:

Lawrimore [a White House spokesman] called the travel provision unworkable because a first-term president seeking re-election would have to pay extremely high sums to cover the full cost of using Air Force One on political trips. Campaign committees for presidents, who always fly on military craft for security reasons, pay the government the cost of a first-class ticket when using Air Force One, Lawrimore said.

Note the term "unworkable."

This is Step 2 in the long-term plan for Federally-financed elections, which is also Step 2 in the plan to remove "the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances" from the 1st Amendment.

The bill's "unworkability" does not stem solely from restrictions on Presidential campaign flights. It is loaded with incomprehensible language affecting ALL Federal campaign activity--precisely because, when the Bill is declared un-Constitutional, the next "logical" step will be to ban ALL private contributions.

That's why the utterly depraved Sen. Slimegold voted for it.

Don't ask me about the excuse that Sensenbrenner and Ryan will use. There IS none.
