Over the years, Alan Borsuk's work has been more or less focused on education issues, and it's clear that he has a good command of the topic.
Today's piece in the JSOnline is worth reading, even though it's long-ish. It's the second of a 4-part series which began on Sunday.
Borsuk is a bit skittish about what I think is the single biggest problem: the lack of parental involvement--which generally is the most significant precursor of "student problems."
