Further, such emails are trivially copied and re-used by various evildoers with a change only in the redirect URL -- a trivially easy thing and, not-surprisingly, very common.
Since it's not at all hard to figure out where such a redirect went and analyze it from there the fact that the FBI and DHS didn't present that information and since it has been widely disclosed to the entire group of email recipients it could not be classified either because it's not secret in the first place one can reasonably conclude that the evidence doesn't point where the FBI and DHS claims it does.
While we're at it, I read on some other blog that 'the Republicans' should be happy that there will be an investigation of this BS because, well, what if "the Russians" published Republican emails??
Frankly, if the Republicans are as slimy as Podesta & Co., I would hope that "the Russians" DO publish that stuff.

Here, someone named Gelernter tells his readers that it is NOT 'conservative' to oppose tranny bathroom lunacies.

Amy Grant, G K Chesterton, and Augustine
Earlier today, NPR ran an interview with Amy Grant, playing a song which she had recently written and recorded. It had to do with the loneliness she (and lots of other people) encounter at Christmas, no matter whether they are with family and friends on that day. Grant commented on that lyric and specifically mentioned how she missed her Mom.
Yah, well, Grant is on to something there, but she's not exactly the first. Back about 1500 years ago, St Augustine famously remarked 'You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you.'
Then along came G. K. Chesterton, with a different take on the same matter:

The Knights of Malta is an organization which is both 'ecclesial' and 'secular.' It actually is a state which maintains about 150 embassies around the world and has its own internal structure. At the same time, it has a Cardinal who is responsible for keeping the Knights on the Catholic path. (All that 'splanation is the simple version, so that y'all get the picture.)
Anyhow.
The current Cardinal is none other than Cdl. Burke, who famously sent Pp. Francis a letter asking 5 VERY pointed questions about his vaguely-worded encyclical Amoris Laetitia. (That phrase does NOT translate to 'the joy of sex,' by the way.) Reports have it that Pp. Francis is hopping mad about that letter from Burke (et. al.--there were others who signed.)
So when the Knights of Malta took an administrative action, firing their CEO for having sent a bunch of rubbers and other birth-control goodies around the world under the aegis of the Knights, good ol' Francis opportunized by forming a commission to investigate the Knights. This is, he thought, a good way to muck up Cdl. Burke's day.
The Knights told Pp. Francis to stick his commission where the sun never shines because the Pope has zero jurisdiction in the matter. None. Nada. Zip. This is an administrative--or 'secular'--matter, say the Knights:

Crushing You and the US: the Cost of Compliance v. Law
Are you law-abiding or compliant?? The difference is significant.
...Laws are made now chiefly by regulatory agencies that combine in themselves all three powers of government. The popular or elected branches may overturn these regulations only when they unite to do so, and this is increasingly rare. So every institution in society is in principle subject to comprehensive regulation. Every employer, every school, many clubs, and family life itself are now the subject of rules too complex for the lay person to grasp. These rules are not always enforced, nor can they be, but Americans sense that they better be looking over their shoulders, careful of what they say.
This has changed the way we live. Compliance increasingly replaces law-abidingness as the public goal. Laws, the Founders held, [following Aquinas] must be simple, few, and constant. Then we may all know what they are, live under them, and help to enforce them. This makes us equal, ruler and ruled. It means that we do not quail before the forces of the law. We are the forces of the law.
Compliance, by contrast, means adapting constantly to changing and complex instructions from central authorities, and it means the employment of specialists to interpret the regulations and make sure others conform. ...
That 'simple, few, constant' thing was also a feature of the 10 Commandments, eh?
Ever wonder why what used to be the "personnel" department is now "human resources"? And why an operation which was historically responsible only for payroll and employment records now has umpty-dozen people who track colors, attractions, sexualisms, and a couple of dozen local, State, and Federal reports? Or why said department has a law firm on speed-dial?
Ever wonder why US manufacturing firms are moving overseas as fast as they can? No, it is NOT THE COST OF LABOR!!! It is the cost of "compliance", not only for fripperies such as "human resources," but also for Big Green-Weenerie, taxes, OSHA...
Think Paul Ryan will have the guts to remedy this crap in the next 4 years?

"Fast Eddie" Flynn Creates Fake News
It seems that "Fast Eddie" Flynn's career has slowed to a crawl and he'll be stuck in Milwaukee for quite some time.

What we do know is that since the concealed carry law went into effect in 2011, only 1 percent of permit holders have been revoked....
OMG!! That's 1,300+ revocations!! Smoke! Fire!!
Not so fast.
...More than 1,200 of those were due to the person moving out of state. 1,000 were due to criminal convictions. Others included those who became or were discovered to be fugitives from justice (63) and those involuntarily committed for mental health treatment (58).

That's interesting. And it's false.
“I’m not aware of evidence of statistical significance that there are people who gain a permit who are committing crime with guns,” said Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel. “We only give permits to people who are law-abiding, who have no record of anything that disqualifies them from seeking that firearm, and those people don’t tend to commit crimes with the guns.”
What we do know is that since the concealed carry law went into effect in 2011, only 1 percent of permit holders have been revoked....
OMG!! That's 1,300+ revocations!! Smoke! Fire!!
Not so fast.
...More than 1,200 of those were due to the person moving out of state. 1,000 were due to criminal convictions. Others included those who became or were discovered to be fugitives from justice (63) and those involuntarily committed for mental health treatment (58).
This may be news to Fast Eddie, but one can become a criminal AFTER one obtains a permit. Sorta like how--for example--Democrat District Attorneys can become Nazi-esque enemies of the First Amendment after they get into office. Just sayin'....

Paul Ryan's Chatter: What?
Even the National Review can't quite swallow Paul Ryan's back-and-forthright gabble. Here's the quote. Following that, we have a test for Speaker Ryan.
...The morning after Election Day, when I asked Ryan during a press conference about his branch’s role in checking the executive — and avoiding the mistakes of the GOP under Bush — he was circumspect in his reply. “I think the mistakes of the Republican government [were] that we didn’t do the right thing at the right time,” he said. “I think the mistake that we made in the past is we didn’t seize the opportunity when it presented itself. The opportunity is now here.”
When Ryan talks about doing “the right thing,” he’s voicing regret that Republicans refused to act boldly — by reforming Social Security, for instance — when they controlled government. But he’s also touching on something more foundational. “The opportunity” Ryan says that Republicans squandered under Bush was to prove that their party was committed to principles of limited government. Ryan now sees the chance to right both wrongs — to accomplish significant things, and accomplish them in a conservative way — with a unified government....
Remember this: Paul Ryan voted FOR every single StupidBush spend-and-debt plan. Every single one. While some Wisconsin pundits come close to worshiping the ground Ryan walks on, actual Conservatives do not.
To be fair, Ryan does understand subsidiarity. He just doesn't like to implement it very much. So here's a quick pass/fail test for the Speaker: Do you support an Article V convention? That's a yes/no question, Paul.....
