Beyond the several problems with Flock, which include giving Flock possession of ALL data and Flock's rumored partnership with an offshore software outfit which specializes in 'spy-adjacent' tech, we now have this:
.....The latest example of this is "IDScan" which is a firm that other companies (like the car-rental outfit Hertz) uses to verify identities in the commercial realm. A "dark web" site called "Nexus" last night popped up with over 150 million scanned driver licenses and similar identity documents including UV and IR scans of them, which incidentally calls into question not just the security of the repository (duh!) but also what authorization said firm had to retain the data in the first place.
It appears that the data in question includes not just driver licenses but also over a half-million medical cards and several million travel documents of various sorts...
"Data theft" made available on the "dark web."
Any reason to think that Flock's security is better than that of "IDScan"?
