 We've largely ignored the trial, but someone who has not asks a very good question.

... women and men are different biologically, and that this means women, especially in biologically vulnerable moments like those following the birth of a child, need extra care and attention. And yet on that second point, they seem to be agreeing with outright misogynists in claiming that women’s biological vulnerability renders us incapable of acting like grown adults. If they’re claiming that women can get so hormonal as to be incapable of reason and accountability, that women’s fluctuations in estrogen levels can absolve them of literal murder, how are they upholding women’s dignity? How are they not essentially insulting the feminists who fought tooth and nail not to be reduced to their hormones?...
