Making a Fool of Trump

There are some things about which Trump knows zero.  Nada.  Zilch.  And he was suckered into one of those just this year.

When the FIRST STEP act was making its way through Congress, its advocates claimed that only “non-violent” federal prisoners would be released from prison early. By non-violent felons they meant, in essence, drug dealers, as opposed to, say, murderers, rapists, and armed robbers....

...Contrary to what they promised, their law is letting violent offenders out of prison early....

The law was written very badly--maybe Kim Kardashian or Jared Kushner drafted it?  As a result, "good time" was credited to EVERY Fed prisoner, not just the "non-violent" ones.

So make sure your doors are locked and you have defensive firepower available.

Roversing L-R Polarity

Z-man notices what's going on and lays it out.

One of the funny things about this age is how the political poles seem to be swapping positions on a great many issues. The Right, for example, is now more concerned with the plight of the working man than the Left, while the Left is a fanatical defender of global capitalism....

 Oh, yes, that's true.

...Conservatism, properly understood, was always skeptical of capitalism, because it tended to destroy indiscriminately. Bulldozing a church to build a processing center may be a more efficient use of resources, but conservatives always knew the altar was the keystone of civilization, not the factory....

Even MORE true.

On the other hand, we have the current edition of The Left.

...Thinking of the American Left, at least the old Protestant aspects of it, as a theodicy, is a good way to understand why the people who used to sport Darwin fish on their Volvo are now extreme science deniers...

Gay "marriage", along with Tranny Thought, come to mind.  It's not different from the Truth-Denial of Jerry Nadler vis-a-vis Trump, although the premise is far less significant in Nadler's case.

Z-man's conclusion is a bit dark.

Along the way, he mentions the primal fallacy of both Left and (political) Right:

Anyone who claims that "human progress" has taken place only has to look at the murder rates around the world, or even in Chicago, Baltimore, and Atlanta.  Yes, the US rates are 'better' than in Somalia, Congo, Iran, and Niger--but only if you exclude abortion. 

"Better," eh?  That's "progress."

Uh-huh.

What Changed in Only 90 Years?

Having been in three different parish churches during this summer, NONE of which were of the 'wacko-Cath' persuasion, I've often been shocked over what I've seen women and teen-aged girls wearing and not wearing in the nave.

I'll spare you any descriptions, but I am certain that none of the Kardashians are members of these congregations, even though their fashions certainly are present.

Anyhow, only 90-ish years ago, there was this.  What changed??

How To Get Killed on a Scooter

Dumbassery grips the "minds" of the yout's.  You might even call it a 'death-grip.'

In a story discussing the Milwaukee scooters being found in the nearby suburbs, we see this:

...One man said he collected four electric scooters in Milwaukee so he and his friends could go bar hopping in West Allis.

"They're just really fun to ride, they're really affordable," he said.

The man asked not to be identified.

"We want to go to some local bars around here, so I grabbed a couple of scooters and put them in my car, and we're just gonna hop on them afterwards because we're gonna be drinking and stuff and don't want to drive the vehicles," he said....

Because being a drunken driver on a scooter is SO much safer than being a drunken driver in a car, right, dumbass?

I don't know if the Nashville victim (see link above) was sober or drunk, but I do know that in a 'Chevy Suburban vs. Scooter' contest, there IS a loser, and it's not the Suburban.

Trump Kills RV Industry.  Women, Children, Indiana Hardest Hit.

Tariff-related price hikes have forced RV manufacturers to pass on costs to dealerships, which in turn the American consumer bears the brunt of the tariff, has slowed sales at dealers who are cutting orders and laying off workers....

It's all Trump's fault.

Or--in RealityLand, where most of us live, one might have noticed the hundreds of unsold RV's piled up in dealer lots LAST SUMMER, which suggests that RV manufacturers just may have over-estimated demand.  By about 20% or so.

Wait, wait!!!  There is ONE mid-level drone who is certain it's Trump!!

..."The tariff price increases are what tipped the RV business — it started the landslide, no question," said Tom Bond, the materials and purchasing manager at Adnik Manufacturing, an Elkhart-based division of Norco Industries....

OK, then.  It's all Trump.

Pritzker, Crown, Bazelon: All Mobbed Up

Ron Unz did a bit of light reading lately, and has become very familiar with the Mobs of Chicago and California.

In his 13,000 word essay (gasp!) he reviews two books by Gus Russo:  The Outfit and Supermob.  With that reading, he learned something important:  much of the Mob was run by Russian Jews who had immigrated to the US.  The Italians did the 'wet' work.  The Russkis?  The brain stuff.

You've heard of General Dynamics?  Mobbed up.  The Pritzker family?  "Family," indeed.  Crown Cork & Seal?  Mob, as was its predecessor, Chicago Sand and Gravel.

How about that Kennedy victory in the '60 election--gained in Chicago?  Or that assassination in November '63?  Pat Brown in California?  Yup.  Truman in K.C.?  Of course!

Oh, yes, Judge Bazelon, Chief of the DC Circuit.  He made a fortune by disposing of the assets seized from the Japanese by Roosevelt during WWII.  And he parlayed that into a nice, comfy, judge-job, for which he was eminently un-qualified.

Notice That Rush Is Flogging More Products?

Not that long ago, Limbaugh personally promoted a product or two with not-very-frequent commercials.  Now it's nearly non-stop, from his $27.76 tee-shirt (yes, that was NOT a typo) to ultra-expensive sheets, stopping along the way for home-security systems and the ever-more-rare caller, unless that caller is ALSO flogging one of the products.

It's been rumored that his audience is falling off.  Perhaps that 'splains all this.  

Boehner (R-Dopers) and Crowley (D-Entitled)....Sheesh

Don Surber discovers the most interesting tidbits.

"Former House Speaker John Boehner and former Rep. Joe Crowley are joining forces in a bipartisan effort to combat a looming pension crisis affecting nearly 1.3 million American retirees 

They are 'multi-employer' pension plans; the ones in trouble are almost exclusively Teamster plans.

Surber acidly notes that both Boehner--a 'legal dope' advocate---and Crowley--who lost his ass position to AOC--are both guaranteed a VERY fat pension and that it's 'very nice' for them to actually give a damn about real people.

One may argue that the Teamsters' programs were far too generous, of course.  And one may also argue that Boehner's cavalier attitude towards Medicare/Medicaid abuse-and-fraud created a lot more problems than multi-employer pension plans.

But hey!  Nobody else in Congress gives a flipping damn, either.

What the Establishment REALLY Wants

VDHanson discovers the true desire of the Ruling-Class.

...Bret Stephens of the New York Times: “So-called real Americans are screwing up America. Maybe they should leave, so that we can replace them with new and better ones: newcomers who are more appreciative of what the United States has to offer, more ambitious for themselves and their children, and more willing to sacrifice for the future. In other words, just the kind of people we used to be—when ‘we’ had just come off the boat.”

Columnist Max Boot narrowed the theme somewhat by suggesting only Republican lawmakers and grandees should be deported and replaced. “If only we could keep the hard-working Latin American newcomers and deport the contemptible Republican cowards—that would truly enhance America’s greatness,” Boot wrote. That’s harsh. At least Chris Hayes only wishes to destroy the Trump base with love and compassion in his heart....

Well, under the rubric that it is better to sacrifice ONE for the benefit of all, maybe American citizens should nudge that a bit, and sacrifice TWO for the benefit of all:  Bret Stephens and Max Boot.

I think that's a good bargain for all of us.

They Never Call Him "Stalin". Why?

There's a reason.  Stalin is their hero. 

Yes, Stalin killed about 10X the people Hitler killed, but that's pish-posh.  They were just "people", ya'know.  Therefore, Stalin was the first Highly Successful Communist Dictator.

And THAT is why they call Trump "Hitler."  Stalin is their hero.

Why Trump? What's National Conservatism?

Let's see if Charlie clutches his pearls and faints over this bill of particulars.

In America, the nationalist claim is that the federal government has abdicated basic responsibilities and broken trust with large numbers of citizens:

• It has failed to secure the national borders and provide regular procedures for immigration and assimilation.

• It has delegated lawmaking to foreign and international bodies, and domestic bureaucracies, that have scant regard for the interests and values of many of our fellow citizens.

• It has acquiesced in, or actively promoted, the splintering of the nation into contending racial, religious and other groups and has favored some at the expense of others.

• It has neglected core American principles and traditions—separation of powers, due process, the presumption of innocence, local prerogative, freedom of association—allowing them to atrophy or be subjected to political conditions.--quoted at Grim's place

The list is damning.  But I'd be willing to bet that every damn Democrat president-candidate will affirm the eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevillllll of this declaration, and go on to condemn it as RRRRaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyycissssssssssss, Homophobe, Nativist, and sssssssssssssextisssss!


Especially Sykes, over there in Mequon or Fox Point, or wherever it's 90+++% white upper-middle-class.

Omar, Charlie Sykes' Heroine

Good ol' Charlie Sykes finds that Trump's condemnation of Ilhan Omar's policy stands are--get this--"Rrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayissssss!" and Sykes moves on to condemn any Republicans who do NOT condemn Trump.

Since this little moral lesson is printed in the Jesuit rag which has been subversive since the mid-1960's, we are not shocked.  (By the way, the rag is currently "at-large" edited by a priest who is unwilling to condemn flagrantly active perverts who are ordained priests, bishops, and cardinals of the Church.  Maybe he should read Sykes' Little Essay on Moral Righteousness, too.)

Ms. Kelly of Chicago defines the Democrat leadership.

One is an ungrateful refugee from a war-torn African nation who consistently demeans the country that saved her and her family. Another is a foul-mouthed historical illiterate who called the president a “motherf—er” and vowed to impeach him the very night she was sworn in as a new congresswoman. Yet another is a camera-hungry drama queen who injects gender, race, and nationality into every political debate because she can’t win on the merits of her argument.
