Another demonstration of "I don't know why there is a Second Amendment."
That's followed by a bunch of actual truth, from a priest in the South.
First, the silliness.
...I’m in favor of more gun control.
Let’s face it, why does anybody need a semi automatic rifle? Have a
shotgun or a rifle if you need one for home defense and carry a pistol
if you must, but keep the guns small and with limited bullets before you
have to re-load, and limit the number of guns a person can have, and do
more background checks, get their doctor and priest or somebody sane to
sign off on the permissions. Make them wait longer before they can buy a
gun....
For the zillionth time, Father, the 2A is NOT entirely about self-defense, nor about hunting. It is about the prevention of tyranny--you know, like you had in merrie olde England. And like they currently have in Red China, VietNam, and North Korea. And Russia.
It is critical that you understand this: self-defense is integral to defense of liberty and the nation, and vice-versa. You cannot have one without the other. Ask Thomas Aquinas. Go ahead. I'll wait.
Then there's this: what's "common sense" to YOU is not necessarily "common sense" for others--which means that it may not be "common" at all, Father. One may "need" a semi-automatic rifle for ensuring humane kills when hunting. Maybe you've never missed a one-shot kill shot on a deer, but others have. One may "need" a semi-auto rifle to defend home/family/self against a home invasion, or in case of major civil disturbance. Ask the Korean shopkeepers about those Los Angeles riots.
Frankly, you are not the judge of "need," Father. I could ask the same 'need' question about the size of a home, speed of a car, or number of acres owned, or dollars in a retirement account. Those are questions proper to an individual, not to society, nor you. It's worth noting that you DO ask those questions in your essay (thanks!!!) but your answer, the B-Option, doesn't work for everyone.
By the way, could that shotgun you allow us be a semi-auto?
How many bullets may one load into a self-defense pistol under your regime, Father? Enough to kill an assailant? How many IS that, Father?
How many guns is "too many" for an individual, Father? Oh--wait--does that individual have a family who might need to be armed? So should each of those people also have a limit? And while we're at it, shouldn't we ask about the purpose of each weapon? After all, there's concealed-carry, open-carry, long-distance hunting (and defense of liberty), close-quarters hunting and defense, bird-shooting.....we could go on.
Finally, Father, when you require that 'somebody sane signs off', exactly who might that be? I'm acquainted with a highly-qualified and eminent M.D. who killed his wife. But he was "sane." Are you telling us that psychiatrists are "more sane" than other people? That rabbis, ministers, or priests are "more sane"? You have a heavy burden of proof, Father....
Here's where you get it RIGHT:
...don’t imagine it is going to stop the killing. Don’t imagine that
controlling guns will control people. Don’t imagine that the heart of
darkness in American society is going to be cured with such a
superficial thing as gun control....
Correct. As Neumayr mentioned today, it's "self-control," not "gun control."
You get even more points here:
...If there is no God everything is permissible. If there is nothing embrace the nothing.
Why is this a theological question? Because nihilism is the dark
underbelly not only of modern philosophy and relativism, but it is also
the dark underbelly of the sappy New Age nonsense on sale by people like
Oprah and the rest of the “Eastern thinkers”
Really. What do the Eastern religions teach? They teach that beyond
the person is the great emptiness. They teach that to truly be
spiritually aware you become aware that the greatest reality is that
there is no reality. Nirvana is to accept with peace that there is
nothing else and no one else out there.
Nirvana is Nihilism....
And Christianity, properly understood, is the answer. Very good!!
(About that "Benedict Option", Father: will there be weapons at that location? How many? What sort?)

Mueller, Schmitz, Chisholm: Birds & Feathers
Here's an interesting item which reinforces the philosophical linkage between Mueller's witch-hunt and that of Schmitz/Chisholm here in Wisconsin. Yes, there are big differences--but the First Amendment plays a big part in both.
...Mueller’s indictment against 13 Russian trolls claimed their social media political activity was criminal because: they were foreign citizens; they tried to influence an election; and they neither registered under the Foreign Agents Registration Act nor reported their funding to the Federal Elections Commission....
OK. So?
Among other things, that theory makes the DNC, Perkins, Coie, and the HRC campaign "co-conspirators" in criminal activity. Much as I'd like to see those entities prosecuted....oh, well.
Here's where Schmitz/Chisholm (et al) and Mueller occupy the same home:
...Mueller’s unprecedented prosecution raises three novel arguments: first, that speaking out about American politics requires a foreign citizen to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act; second, that speaking out about American politics requires a foreign citizen list their source and expenditure of funding to the Federal Election Commission; and third, that mistakes on visa applications constitute “fraud” on the State Department. All appear to borrow from the now-discredited “honest services” theories Mueller’s team previously used in corporate and bribery cases, cases the Supreme Court overturned for their unconstitutional vagueness. The indictment raises serious issues under the free speech clause of the First Amendment and due process rights under the Fifth Amendment....
The Left is perfectly willing to allow speech, so long as the Left approves of that speech. Speak in an un-approved method, or speak BadThought? You get a midnight raid, or the Ham Sandwich treatment from a Fed attorney with a very spotty record.

Here's a Solution to School Shootings
Oh, yes, Wisconsin can "DO SOMETHING" about school shootings.
The Legislature and Governor can allow teachers (and other school personnel) to carry at school.
Costs a lot less than hiring a small army of cops.

Romney Still a Turkey
Mitt will move himself and family to Utah, I suppose.
...In a Facebook campaign video, he lamented that Washington was sending "a message of exclusion" to immigrants....
Would that "exclusion" apply to the 47% you don't give a rip about, Mitt?

Ululation and Weeping: NCR on Madison Diocese
Since H.E. Morlino has not moved an inch since the last full-out assault on his reign from the Nat'l "Catholic" Reporter, they decided to launch another one, this beginning in Platteville.
At the 4 p.m. Saturday Vigil Mass at St. Mary Church here, Fr. John Blewett recites the prayers with his back to the congregation. Only occasionally does he turn around to face the worshipers gathered on this typical Wisconsin winter afternoon of 9-degree temperatures.
Blewett is accompanied by three altar boys (the parish prohibits girls from serving). His hands are neatly folded in the formal prayer position. At Communion, there are no lay ministers to dispense the sacrament.....
You will note that the writer is a very clumsy propagandist. His half-truths, distortions, and outright fables are easily discerned. The NYSlimes wouldn't bother to invite him to take an entrance exam. So he's wandering around Platteville, WI. in January. (He didn't mention that Platteville is the home of a large University of Wisconsin campus, did he? Think that makes a difference?)
There's even a list of peccata Morlinora!!
--Endorsed the diocesan chancery's letter to priests denying Catholic funeral rites to LGBT people;
Not quite. UN-REPENTANT, ACTIVE LGBT's. Perhaps NCR would give Hitler (a cradle Catholic) an RC funeral?
--Recruited a cadre of young priests, particularly those from the Society of Jesus Christ the Priest, who embrace a return to pre-Vatican II liturgical practices;
OMG! He went and got a bunch of PRIESTS--to make up for the horrific failure(s) of his predecessor Bishops to develop vocations. This has the effect of keeping sacraments available to the Faithful. Horrors!!
By the way, those priests use the Ordinary Form, as the reporter notes further down in his cri de coeur.
--Provided a diocesan home for Fr. John Zuhlsdorf, a blogger and frequent critic of Francis.
Anybody can make a mistake.
Recall my note about the population of Platteville?
...Many of the parishioners who were upset with the direction of the parish moved on to other congregations. Richard Wagner, a member of a local Presbyterian church, estimated that his congregation has brought in some 30 families who used to attend St. Mary.
Can you spell "indifferentism"? Who catechized these people??
"They're not being fed," he said over lunch at a local restaurant, describing why some Catholics exited the parish. At St. Mary, "you have to eat Latin."
Typical snotty Prot, eh?
His wife, Kristie, raised a Catholic, is a Sunday school teacher at the Presbyterian church, assisting fellow teachers there in understanding the Catholic questions of some of the students.
Looks like Kristie is an apostate. Why the Hell would anyone ask HER for 'understanding' of Catholic doctrine?
Other former St. Mary parishioners have landed at the local Methodist congregation....
See "indifferentism" above.
What H E Morlino has here is a heavy burden; he must go through the pain of being assaulted by twits like NCR writers and the far-left-of-center population of Dane County, Wisconsin, while he attempts to re-catechize nearly all of the Catholic population. This, by the way, is hardly the only parish in that Diocese which is wallowing in semi-Catholicism.
Pray for Bp. Morlino and pray for his flock.

The Pentagon's Pretend Defense
Codevilla is not just another Conservative pundit. He also understands that some swamps are built in a Pentagon-like shape.
And inside that Pentagon-shape are a helluva lot of generals who have their heads stuck firmly up their asses.
...The current U.S missile defense budget comes to $12.9 billion—some $300 billion over the past forty years. But tiny, semi-starved North Korea has well-nigh built the capacity to overwhelm it. Because this year’s nearly $2 billion increase goes into the very programs that have made this possible, it cannot change our vulnerability. Nor would quadrupling that increase do so.
That is because all such programs remain predicated on some unwise notions about our defenses. First, the official U.S policy since 1972 has been that we must avoid doing anything that adversely affects the capacity of the USSR/Russia, and China, to attack America with ballistic missiles. Hence, its corollary: Such “national missile defense as we may build will be limited to one “site.” Its fire control system will launch interceptors only after they have come into view of the site’s radar.
Though the 1972 ABM Treaty is no longer in force, the U.S will not do fire control using any orbital systems that “substitute for” ground based radars. That reliance on surface based radars means that our efforts to defend against missiles not just from Russia and China, but also from North Korea and Iran, suffer under insurmountable inefficiencies. Hence as well, the U.S will refrain from striking missiles from orbit, especially using systems “based on other physical principles” (read: lasers). In sum the money we have spent and are spending on missile defense is less a solution than a placebo....
Well, THAT's reassuring, ain'a? We have a Nixon/Carter defense philosophy which begins with "Don't HURT the Bad Guys."
Reagan may have ignored that--because he killed off the Soviet Union by other means. But this crapola is perfectly consistent with the Bush Boyzzz/Clinton/Obozo philosophy.
And every one of those people was wrong. 180 degrees wrong.

Just Add Drugs, and *BANG*!!
It might actually take work, so don't expect the MSM to bring up the matter, but it's likely that Cruz the Shooter was on psycho meds (SSRI's) and that treatment regime has consequences.
...A disturbing number of perpetrators of school shootings and similar mass murders in our modern era were either on – or just recently coming off of – psychiatric medications...
He mentions Harris of Columbine, Purdy of Stockton, Kinkel of Oregon, Karneal of Paducah, among others. The "others" include Andrea Yates, who claimed that 'voices told her' to drown her FIVE children.
...Whether we like to admit it or not, it is undeniable that when certain people living on the edge of sanity take psychiatric medications, those drugs can – and occasionally do – push them over the edge into violent madness. Remember, every single SSRI antidepressant sold in the United States of America today, no matter what brand or manufacturer, bears a “black box” FDA warning label – the government’s most serious drug warning – of “increased risks of suicidal thinking and behavior, known as suicidality, in young adults ages 18 to 24.”...
Would that they only committed suicide, eh?

Fed Prosecutors and Zero Ethics
Well now we know of TWO Fed prosecutors who are ....unnhhhh....s*&tballs.
One prosecuted Mr. Bundy in Nevada and a Fed judge dismissed the case because of his actions.
Another one--Weissman--is now a member of the Mueller team.
Both of them ignored the 'Brady information' requirement laid out by SCOTUS. Note well we did not say "suggestion," but REQUIREMENT.
These cretins should be disbarred AND prosecuted. There's no excuse for that.
UPDATE: It may be that there's a third--or perhaps that Weissman is playing his only trump card again: cheat-to-win. Of course, that makes Mueller look pretty bad....

You Thought I Was Kidding, Eh?
I've often mentioned that Barack Obama is a Communist. His pretense at being a 'Christian' and the suspicion that he was really a Moslem were both off, by about 180 degrees.
And most of you thought I was a nutbag, still living the Cold War.
I am not now, nor was I then, a 'nutbag,' and the Cold War ended with the collapse of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, in case you forgot.
There's authority to back me up--an ex-Commie and Romanian spymaster. (I read his book, by the way. Did you??)
Seen from my vantage point, the four-page FISA abuse memo authored by Rep. Devin Nunes is proof that former president Barack Obama and Democratic Party leaders wanted to transform the U.S. into a Russian-style intelligence dictatorship -- and the FBI into a KGB-style instrument for rewriting American history by smearing its capitalist politicians....
... Obama stated that his presidency would be "the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet to heal.” Earlier, an indiscreet video showed a picture of communist idol Che Guevara hanging on a wall behind Obama.
Our media and our political sages regarded Obama’s outrageous rhetoric as just millennial generational talk. For me, it was thinly veiled Ceausescu talk. My former boss's version usually was: “A man like me is born only once every five hundred years.” Ceausescu also kept a picture of Che in his office....
Obama had a picture of Che in his study, by the way.
...To a knowledgeable eye, Obama's actions suggest he might have had some intelligence connection with the Kremlin, such as Whittaker Chambers once had. In 2010, the FBI arrested ten Russian intelligence officers documented as native-born Americans who were serving as spies in the United States. President Obama then returned them to Russia before they were interrogated by the FBI about their spying tasks....
"To a knowledgeable eye" means 'there is NO QUESTION that...'
A lot of Democrat Party members wave the flag and pretend to be patriots, while wholeheartedly supporting and praising this piece of shit, Obama.
I was not kidding, I am not nuts. He's a Communist.

by the Communist Party USA (CPUSA). In a column entitled “Big Political
Shifts Are Underway,” Joelle Fishman, the chairman of the CPUSA
Political Action Committee, emphasized that the CPUSA was now part of
Obama’s coalition. Nor is it any wonder that when Obama became
president, the first open member of a Communist Party was working at the
White House. Van Jones....

Is the FBI Lying, or Really, Really, Incompetent?
The FBI is stating, for the record, that after an "exhaustive" search of their databases, they could not figure out who Nikolas Cruz was.
OK, then. He spelled his name correctly, had been on the radar (and in the courts) of the locals in Florida half-dozen times....
Really?
Were you guys SO busy looking for Russian votes........??
Or are you lying?
Or are you just that f'n stupid?
Looks more and more like "stupid", Alex.

Simple and Stupid Twits Insult Poland
It appears that all the Usual Suspects--this time including Rexxon--are not only wrong, but spectacularly wrong.
That's the text of a Polish law recently enacted and signed. Simple, Stupid people, such as the MSM and Professoriate, are deriding Poland for some imaginary "oppression" of "free speech."
It's not "Free Speech" to slander the Poles, Rexxon, you twit. It's slander.
Hint to Rexxon: if the MSM and the Professoriate agree with you, you are wrong.
It's that simple, stupid.
Whoever publicly and contrary to the facts attributes to the Polish Nation or to the Polish State responsibility or co-responsibility for the Nazi crimes committed by the German Third Reich, as specified in Article 6 of the Charter of the International Military Tribunal – Annex to the Agreement for the prosecution and punishment of the major war criminals of the European Axis, executed in London on 8 August 1945 (Journal of Laws of 1947, item 367), or for any other offences constituting crimes against peace, humanity or war crimes, or otherwise grossly diminishes the responsibility of the actual perpetrators of these crimes, shall be liable to a fine or deprivation of liberty for up to 3 years. The judgment shall be communicated to the public. Art. 55a. 1.

The Stupid!! It Hurts!!
So your buddy wants to wear a flak jacket to test its capabilities.
And you can't really aim the .22 all that well.
Yup. Gives real meaning to the term "butt-hurt."

Do the Russkis Tell YOU How to Vote?
To hear the US Intel types, Feebs, and some politicians tell it, the American voter is the dumbest dummy ever to find a polling place. They're surprised that voters can even find the polling places, too.
Perhaps the Russkis plant stories, like the Democrats do. Perhaps they try to jigger the votes, just like the Democrats do (think Chicago....) Perhaps they lie like Hell about candidates, just like the Democrats do.
Perhaps our Intel types, Feebs, and politicians should butt out before all the Democrats wind up in prison, eh?

RoJo to Trump: Don't Bother Bringing Jobs Here
This should not come as a surprise to anyone.
We can be a tiny bit sympathetic with RoJo, but I've never seen a press release of his touting Fair Trade. He's been brainwashed into believing that consumers 'buy cheap' because they ARE cheap. He prolly never thought that consumers 'buy cheap' because the US is importing wage deflation from slave states around the world.....
...In Wisconsin, a big manufacturing state, in seven years I have not visited one manufacturer that could hire enough people. That was certainly my experience in the last 20, 25 years. For a host of reasons, we tell our kids you have to get a four-year degree. We pay people not to work. So we do need to be concerned about, in such a tight labor market, do we have enough workers in manufacturing.
So my final point is, it makes no sense for me to try and bring back high labor-content manufacturing to America. We need to do the value added things. And so I would just say, proceed with real caution there....
Well, yes, the "four-year degree" disease is a factor, as is welfare. What else could possibly be a factor, Ron? Can you spell W-A-G-E-S, Ron?
Why yes, I knew you could!! So what holds down W-A-G-E-S, Ron? The competition from slave states like Red China??
OK, then, we can neuter that with what's called "Fair Trade" tariffs, Ron. See, "Fair Trade" takes into account the burdens of enterprise in the USA such as OSHA, FLSA, UC, EPA, health insurance, social security,....all that stuff that Governments here require but the ChiComs (just one example) do not.
Don't like "Fair Trade", Ron? Or do you??
Whose working-class do you prefer? Ours? Or Theirs?

Whose working-class do you prefer? Ours? Or Theirs?
Marquette Profs at "Joy of Sex" Adultery Ed. Tour
Don't draw the wrong conclusion: the encyclical is actually titled Amoris Laetitia or "Joy of Love."
But since it seems to legitimize adulterous 'second marriages' it earned the soubriquet in my post-title.
Anyhow. Cdl. Cupich is the front-man for Pp. Francis' Adultery Education Tour, and two of the consulting theologians are from Marquette University: Conor Kelly and Kate Ward.
Cupich has already given a presentation on the topic of AL in England and has made it clear that the interpretation given by the Bishops of Argentina (Buenos Aires) is just fine and dandy.
Well, it's not. But Cupich has long been on the radar of actual Catholics, and his promotion to Chicago (by Pp. Francis) was regarded as a clear sign that things would be getting *interesting*.
And they are. Oremus pro pontifice! Oremus pro fidelibus!!
(For those of you who cannot find "clarity" in Cupich's blathering, see this item by a truly courageous priest: Fr. George Rutler. N.B.: you can support Fr. Rutler's parish online or by check. Just Google him.)

Ixonia Kittycat Now in Washington County
DNR called this a "housecat" after it was filmed in Ixonia near a public school. The "housecat" then wandered into Fond du Lac County, and has now wandered back south to Washington County.
Just a kittycat, nothing to see here, move along.

Trump Goes Lefty in Budget, Has Stupid Excuse
We all knew it would happen somewhere along the line, and the time is now. Trump is reverting to (fiscal) form. Remember, he's a real estate developer.
President Donald Trump is proposing a 10-year spending plan that never produces a balanced budget, and increases deficit spending by $7.2 trillion over the next decade....
The excuse for this is the one heard from any 7-year-old, and Limbaugh was given the job of looking like the 7-year-old in question; it was Limbaugh who floated the excuse yesterday.
PDT's reasoning? "Well, the debt cataclysm has not happened yet, and look how many years we've been adding debt, and it's just old fuddyduddies who think you should pay your debts, anyway."
This is the Fallacy of the Bigger Sucker. Trump expects that there will always be a bigger sucker out there who will purchase US Treasury bonds--and that the bigger sucker(s) will have big money to make the purchases with.
Yup. Except if the Big Money guy is an enemy of the US. Not all wars involve soldiers and sailors.

The NeverTrumpers' Dark Side
V D Hanson puts his finger on the dark side of many NeverTrumpers. It's unfortunate that "W" Bush falls into this particularly odiferous swamp.
...We rightly associate the elite disdain for the clingers, irredeemables, and deplorables with progressives like Obama and Hillary Clinton. But politics is incidental to the matrix; more essential is class.
It was Mitt Romney who said he could not work with 47 percent of the population and wrote them off as hopelessly lost voters. It was David Brooks and Bill Kristol who caricatured the white working class as near Neanderthal and romanticized illegal aliens (often by deliberating conflating them with legal immigrants.)
If one were to read carefully through the disparagement of Americans in the texts of Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, with their slurs against hillbilly Virginians and Texans and smelly Trump supporters, one can see that Strzok appears likely to be a suburban Republican or independent of the sort who would vote for John Kasich.
The point is not that Strzok and Page are hyperpartisans, but that they are comfortable with candidates who foremost reflect their cultural tastes and proper cursus honorum. And as we have witnessed with some in the NeverTrump movement, for these sorts, being grateful that new economic policies might reinvigorate the old rust-belt and the hinterland is more than offset by the concomitant price of an ascendant working class that lacks the tastes of the elite and the romance of the deliberately distant poor and minorities.
The Trump catharsis has shown that about 10 percent of the Republican Party, the NeverTrumpers, was largely apolitical. That is, former cornerstone positions of deregulation and tax reform, oil and gas production, charter schools, deterrent foreign policy, restoring friendship with Israel and moving the embassy to Jerusalem were apparently always secondary to the more important criterion of offering a mild, sober and judicious frown to progressivism, through discerning losers like George H.W. Bush, John McCain, or Mitt Romney.
Such a Republican elite was so embedded within American establishment institutions as to be both immune from the economic stagnation of an Obama neo-socialist revolution (remember income inequality soared under Obama) and in no real need of a Reagan revolution or Trump’s often messy radical push-back against progressivism.
Its creed was not really, as advertised, the ethics of “losing nobly is better than winning ugly,” but rather the snobbery of “losing a cultural image is worse than winning a political agenda.” Put more bluntly, it is better to put up with a socialist with a “perfectly creased pant” than a prairie-fire conservative in rumpled Walmart slacks....
You understand that not ONE of these people would create--much less USE--a slogan like "Make America Great Again." Hanson has it right: they don't really give a fart in the wind about "America." But they are very concerned with the symphony, the ballet, and how things are at the club.

Cardinal Soros?
Interesting little side-chat here about the Vatican's pipeline-person to Soros in an essay decrying the Vatican's sudden enchantment with the ChiComs.
...One person not surprised is George Neumayr, former editor of Catholic World Report, who tells me: “I wrote about the pope’s capitulation to the Chinese communists in my book, The Political Pope. The most recent developments were telegraphed by the pope years ago.” As to Sorondo, Neumayr adds: “I also wrote about the bishop…. He has been a Vatican gateway for the Soros crowd and very much reflects the pope’s thinking. He is the one who set up the Bernie Sanders invite to the Vatican and made a point of telling everyone that Sanders was the only presidential candidate invited…. His academy is overflowing with socialists and communists.”...
That Soros guy gets around, eh?

Falling For The WSJ BullHockey
Someone in blog-land fell for the WSJ's bull-hockey "history of the West."
Our ancestors replaced dogma, tradition, and authority with reason, debate and institutions of truth seeking. They replaced superstition and magic with science. They shifted their values from the glory of the tribe, nation, race, class or faith toward universal human flourishing....
Uhmmnnnhhh....nope. Actual study of REAL Western history finds that "the Enlightenment" was constructed on the foundation laid by the Catholic church's intellectuals. You can look it up in a book: "Bearing False Witness" written by Rodney Stark, who is NOT a Catholic.
And by the way: following Voltaire and Locke came such luminaries as Marx and Engels (actually, they are distantly-related followers of Luther.) It is a fallacy to aver that "reason" replaced dogma: in fact, reason and dogma are identical.
But that's hard for folks in Madistan to understand, I suppose. Maybe instead of reading the WSJ's Gospel, they could try Catholicism--which, as GKC said, "....has been found difficult and never tried."
....because of The Enlightenment, that 18th Century awakening led by thinkers like John Locke, Adam Smith, Isaac Newton, Descartes, Voltaire, Jefferson, Mozart and Haydn. --WSJ flapdoodle

Dear Donald: Let Mueller Twist in the Wind
If there was ever a really good reason for PDT to politely decline an interview with Mueller, this post makes the case.
Brief: Mueller was FEEB Director at the time Hillary's corrupt Uranium-One deal was approved. And guess what? Mueller had to sign off on it, too.
Since there's no "Russian Collusion" to be had, and since Mueller's looking at hard time if the U-One deal gets exposed......
Mueller MUST catch Trump in some sort of process crime.
So. The President should tell Mr. Mueller that he politely declines the invitation to tea.

It Ain't Sessions. It's McConnell
The loud voices scream for Jeff Sessions' blood. Yah, well, it's clear that Sessions is one guy in a foxhole, running out of ammo, facing a brigade of the enemy.
And it's also clear that McConnell is NOT interested in rescuing Sessions or Trump.
PowerLine provides the org chart.
Attorney General – Jeff Sessions
Deputy Attorney General – Rod Rosenstein
Associate Attorney General – vacant
Solicitor General – Noel Francisco
Assistant Attorney General, Civil Division – vacant, nomination pending
Assistant Attorney General, Civil Rights Division – vacant, nomination pending
Assistant Attorney General, Criminal Division – vacant, nomination pending
Assistant Attorney General, National Security Division – vacant, nomination pending
Assistant Attorney General, Environmental Division – vacant, nomination pending
The Tax Division head slot is also vacant, no nomination pending.
J. Christopher Adams has a few words to say about that. Want the short version? McConnell is making damn sure that The Establishment will prevail.
He is an evil man, indeed.

So Paul Ryan, Is This What You Call "Leadership"?
In addition to lie-bragging to pro-lifers about "de-funding" Planned Murderhood, Ryan has been in leadership/chairmanship slots in the House for quite a long time.
During ALL of Ryan's time in chair or Speaker slots, the FedGov has not passed one complete appropriations package.
Not ONE.
...The last time Congress passed all appropriations bills on time was 1997, which was only the fourth instance all appropriations were done since 1977....
So, Paul, how's "leadership" reflected in this? Yah, yah, there is the McConnell problem and 8 years of Obozo--but there were also 8 years of Bush, remember??
Your primary opponent is a racist clown-car and your general opponent is a fake. But sooner or later your luck will run out, Paul.

Times Have Changed in the Church
Times have changed in the Church. There will be a quiz at the end of this post.
...“Let any member of the clergy caught in that vice against nature [homosexual relations], given that the wrath of God falls over the sons of perfidy, be removed from the clerical order or forced to do penance in a monastery” (chap. 4, X, V, 31).
So that the contagion of such a grave offense may not advance with greater audacity by taking advantage of impunity, which is the greatest incitement to sin, and so as to more severely punish the clerics who are guilty of this nefarious crime and who are not frightened by the death of their souls, we determine that they should be handed over to the severity of the secular authority, which enforces civil law.
Therefore, wishing to pursue with greater rigor than we have exerted since the beginning of our pontificate, we establish that any priest or member of the clergy, either secular or regular, who commits such an execrable crime, by force of the present law be deprived of every clerical privilege, of every post, dignity and ecclesiastical benefit, and having been degraded by an ecclesiastical judge, let him be immediately delivered to the secular authority to be put to death, as mandated by law...Pp. St. Pius V
That was only 450 years ago, or so.
Now then, class: have times changed for the better, or the worse??

Is Trump a Debt Drunk?
The recent "budget" deal was cooked up by Congress--which is to say, McConnell and Ryan--but Trump signed it. He didn't have to sign it....
There will be a lot more US debt, with the most likely result being higher interest rates for the US and for its citizens. There will be a lot more dead babies because Ryan (wink-wink) funded Planned Murder, again. The Wall is gone, at least for this round. We can go on; you know the story.
In real life, Donald Trump is a real estate developer and real estate developers live on debt. They owe everybody something. Many times the debts are paid, too.
Did The Donald bring his debt-drunk-developer persona to the Presidency?
If he did, we are in very deep doo-doo. He's done a number of good things--so far. But taking the USA into bankruptcy--well--that would obliterate any good that he's done, or COULD ever do.
Debt-drunks already hold a majority in Congress. God help us if the President is another one.

The NPR Version of "Why Brand Quit"
The #3 banana at Justice quit (as did her assistant).
Allahpundit happens to have written the NPR version of "why". It's bullshit, of course.
...given Trump’s perpetual rage at Sessions and Rosenstein, it’s quite possible that Brand would have been elevated to Attorney General before Trump’s presidency ends. For most lawyers, under normal circumstances, *that’s* a dream job. Under Trump-y circumstances, though? If anything, Brand may have feared rather than hoped that she’d eventually get the call....
That is approximately the same horse-hockey that NPR is spreading this morning: it's "uncomfortable" to be in the DOJ and if Rosenstein goes, she'll be supervising Mueller. Apparently this very high-powered and politically adroit woman is really just another snowflake.
Riiiiigt.
She's going to WallyWorld and will earn $Umpty-Mega-Bucks. And she doesn't want to explain how deep and wide the Holder/Lynch corruption really is.

They Expect You to BELIEVE This Crap....
Apparently the NYSlimes and the CIA think that their readership is even dumber than Hillary Clinton (who will NEVER be President!!) because they expect you to believe this happy horsecrap.
After months of secret negotiations, a shadowy Russian bilked American spies out of $100,000 last year, promising to deliver stolen National Security Agency cyberweapons in a deal that he insisted would also include compromising material on President Trump, according to American and European intelligence officials. --quoted at AOSHQ
Sure. Ace has it right: Brennan's outfit wanted dirty pix of Trump. The rest of it is bullshit, because once "cybertools" are stolen, they are gone, baby, gone. Like your wife's virginity....
Time for Brennan and his accomplices here to go directly to prison. Do not pass "Go." Do not collect $200.00--nor your pension, asshole.

The Confused Cdl. Cupich
This guy has been on the radar since his days out West, and not in a good way.
Sure enough, he manages to get even worse. Dreher takes note of a recent speech given by the Cardinal. I'll just re-post the most ....ahhhh....ridiculous.....part. Here, Dreher cites the text of an article from Nat'l "Catholic" Reporter:
[Cupich] cites the definition for conscience given in Gaudium et Spes as “the most secret core and sanctuary of a man … [where] he is alone with God, Whose voice echoes in his depths.” “When taken seriously, this definition demands a profound respect for the discernment of married couples and families,” the cardinal states. “Their decisions of conscience represent God’s personal guidance for the particularities of their lives. In other words, the voice of conscience — the voice of God … could very well affirm the necessity of living at some distance from the Church’s understanding of the ideal.”
Umnnhhh.....no. Vox Dei can NEVER 'affirm the necessity' of 'living at...distance' from.....aaaarrgghhhhhhh!
Cupich is attempting to reconcile Pp. Francis' Jesuitical essay Amoris Laetitia with about 2,000 years of the Church's teaching on marriage. Unfortunately, circles don't square easily, which was a point made by Cdl. Burke about 500 days ago--and that point has yet to be refuted by the sitting Pope.

THIS Is "Science"??
Hell, with this sort of standard, I could have been a Ph.D. in Physics and also BioChem!!
So it's prolly not a good bet to buy "the results" from scientific studies, eh?
HT: Vox
More than 70% of researchers have tried and failed to reproduce another scientist's experiments, and more than half have failed to reproduce their own experiments. Those are some of the telling figures that emerged from Nature's survey of 1,576 researchers who took a brief online questionnaire on reproducibility in research.

Fauxcahontas' Ultra-Luxury Boondoggle
Why yes, you may NOT use this building. You are only required to PAY for it.
And pay a lot! This Class A building will cost more than the Trump Tower. This is the life that Fauxcahontas wants for her servants, who are also your masters.
Think that a "conservative" like Paul Ryan will find a way to nuke this bunch?
You don't get two guesses, prole.

All You Need to Know on Ryan's Budget Deal
Let's not forget that Paul Ryan voted for McYertle's "deal."
Tesla Fails, Again
The repeated failure of Tesla to deliver the Model 3 car has everything to do with Elon Musk's hubris, and ought to lead to Very Big Questions about his proposed semi-trailer tractor.
Most of you know about "the assembly line." Well, that's now called a "transfer line" and it's a lot more sophisticated than Mr. Ford might have imagined. The transfer line is controlled by bunches of sensors linked to quite a few computers which control the flow of parts to the main line, adjust alignments of parts to each other (or allow for humans to do that), and stop/start as the need arises.
That's the VERY short description. And therein lies Musk's problem.
You see, Mr. Musk, the Genius, overrode his manufacturing management team and ordered the transfer line before the car had been completely designed. That meant that the transfer line had to be installed with a helluvalot of "best guesses" as to parts-flow, alignments, stop/start points, (etc.) And as you may have guessed, it didn't work well. (That's called a "cold-start" line and it is VERY rare.)
By the way, the same problem exists at his Nevada battery plant, same reason: Musk.
Anyhow. When this line gets to its full capacity, Musk will be producing 2,500 cars/week. Except he promised 5,000/week. Musk knew that, and commanded that a second transfer line be installed so they could produce 5,000/week.
Just one problem: there is no way to cram a second line into the existing plant. He'll need another plant to get to that goal. And when Toyota/GM were running that plant, they were popping out 6,000/week--with FAR fewer assembly workers, too.
But Elon Musk is a genius--yes--at snatching Government grants and tax credits. Given what we know about his car, though, I'd be hedging bets on his Semi-Tractor.

McYertle Budget Passes. Lyin'Ryan Votes "HELL, YES!!"
Yes, that's bad news, and as usual, Lyin'Ryan, Sean Duffy, and Glenn Grothman funded Planned Parenthood. Sensenbrenner---happily--voted no.
There will be no Wall. There will be no spending cap. There will be even more spending than Obozo had.
Most important to Congress-Slime (including knob-polisher Grothman) is that the hard questions will NOT come up until after the next election.
I mean, what's more important? Grothman, Duffy, and Ryan getting re-elected? Or the US going bankrupt?

Rotten, Awful, No-Good McConnell Budget
Besides that, it's also terrible and (surprise!!) has a touch of corruption.
The Corrupt-O-Crats reared their ugly heads in the McConnell budget's tax provisions.
"Say what?" you say. "We already HAD tax reform!!"
Yes, but not the right kind of tax reform, rube. Corrupt-O-Crats want preferences!!
....Congress has now decided to resurrect dozens of expired tax preferences for favored industries. If they succeed in renewing the tax extenders, congressional Republicans will collectively trample on the success of their most impressive legislative achievement—true tax reform.
The extenders are largely a subsidy package for the energy industry. Two-thirds of the provisions are energy related. The current proposal would extend special credits to solar lighting systems, fuel cells, geothermal heat pumps, and small wind power, among others.
Also included in the list of things Congress wants to use your money to subsidize: biofuel, rum producers, private railroads, and nuclear power....
(If you notice a similarity to Walker's Diaper-Doings, you're perceptive....)
...The proposed tax extenders are primarily a government transfer to moneyed political interests, lacking the intended effect of incentivizing targeted investments....
As usual, McYertle came up with pure garbage larded with poop. Let's hope that Sensenbrenner joins the fiscal conservatives here and shoves it right up McYertle's ass.

A Pubbie With....Cojones?? Oh, My!!
Yes, there is at least one Republican candidate who has.....well, umnnhh.....
Illinois Republican State Rep. Jeanne Ives has managed to anger women, Hispanics, and transgender people in only 60 seconds.
The 1987 West Point graduate has refused to back
away from the one-minute TV ad in which, among other things, a man
wearing a dress thanks Gov. Bruce Rauner (R-Ill.) for “signing
legislation that allows me to use the girls’ bathroom.”...
Oh, yah....the Republican is a woman. And she STILL has more cojones than the Republican she's running against, who looks a lot like a man.
Send money. This is the NOT-F.I.B.!!!
Jumping Ship....
There's an old saying about rats. They usually get the hell off the ship before it sinks.
David Laufman, who leads the DOJ's counterintelligence division, is leaving the DOJ for “personal reasons,” according to The Washington Post.
In addition to working on the investigation into Clinton’s handling of classified information, Laufman has also worked on the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
On the Clinton investigation, he sat in on interviews with the former secretary of state and several of her aides, including Cheryl Mills, Huma Abedin and Jake Sullivan. --quoted at AOSHQ
The "personal reasons" may have to do with interviewing potential high-powered defense lawyers.

Lyin' Ryan, the Gutless Wonder
Well, earlier I asked if Ryan would have the guts to tell McYertle to shove that "budget" up his ass.
Answer is: No, Ryan does not have the guts. Nor--apparently--does he give a flying damn about the fiscal health of the US, so long as his retirement pension and bennies survive.
...Paul Ryan ..... anticipates no problem passing the budget deal that the Senate will hand off to them today. All he needs is enough Democrats to overcome the opposition of the House Freedom Caucus, which opposes the massive spending increases in the bill....
Wonder if this gets the girly-girls to swoon, eh?
P.S.: This budget funds Planned Parenthood again, just as all Ryan's CR's. Think Lyin'Ryan will make another speech about NOT funding BabyKiller, Inc.?

Dystopia Coming Soon.....
Nothing more fun than reading about the Smart People's plans for you, eh? There's a new book floating around titled The History of Tomorrow.
...it is an important to know about this 2017 book. The author is Yuval Noah Harari, a history professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His books have become New York Times bestsellers and enjoyed endorsements from people like former President Barack Obama and Bill Gates. You can safely say he is on the cutting edge of everything liberal and heretical.
Indeed, the book reflects every liberal cause from global warming, same-sex “marriage,” to radical relativism. His mystical overtones embrace an ancient gnostic heresy or two. His secular side can be found in his broadsides against religion. Even Marxist analysis finds its way into the book...
It would appear that Hebrew U. has the same sort of problems that Georgetown U. has: professors who will have NOTHING to do with the religion supposedly advocated by the institution they work for. Sad.
Anyhow...
...Liberalism is dying, the victim of its own success. It will be replaced with a revolution aimed at changing human nature.
The worst thing is that you perceive he is not alone in believing in this chilling future. He speaks for a progressive class of scientists, businessmen and scholars that are all onboard....
If you smell Brave New World here, your olfactories are working fine. And--as usual--this Project, too, will wither (or crash) and die. But that doesn't mean we can escape it.

Establishment Boy: "The Russians!!! The Russians!!"
George W Bush personifies "the establishment" except that he is likeable, so you don't confuse him with the other 99% of those people.
Anyhow, good ol' "W" says that the Russians "meddled" in the election. Vague and inane as it is, the comment fulfills all the wishes of the Establishment and its Deep State guardians.
Doh.
Russia--just like the USA--pursues its own interests whenever and wherever it can. Ukraine, Israel, Iran, Pakistan--wherever. And we leave footprints, too, just like the Russkis.
What CBee Esss and the rest of the dolts in the MSM fail to show is this: HOW MANY RUSSIAN VOTES WERE CAST HERE?
Count 'em up. We'll wait.

Strzok's Zipper Problem Not the Only One
Apparently Agent Strzok's zipper pathology is only one part of his Establishment Jackwad complex.
While on "affirmative action,"....Strzok wrote “While I hate Trump, part of me thought [redacted] would not/may not get into [redacted] because they’re white and not from buttf*ck Texas.”
Hmmm. He also has curious notions about how to raise children:
...Then he appears to joke that he would make his own child homeless if he supported Ted Cruz....
That's a two-fer: Cruz is from Texas!!
But you don't have to be from Texas to draw the disgust of Agent Strzok. He's a very inclusive hater!!
...The pair later complain about pro-life demonstrators in DC. “F*cking marchers making traffic problems,” Strzok says.
Strzok then says, “I have an idea!” The government, he says, should cancel the protesters’ permit under the guise of a “snow emergency.” Then they mock “Rep candidates” who say climate change isn’t real....
Offhand, I'd question putting this bozo into a Human Resources slot. But that's telling: this is the Establishment/Deep State's boy--so he should be screening people for Feeb jobs, right??
Right??

McYertle Spend Beats Even Obozo's
Apparently McYertle lives in Fantasyland. Unfortunately, we do not.
...The agreement would bust existing budget caps not just for desperately needed military spending, but for a massive explosion in domestic discretionary spending that is neither necessary nor affordable. The new social spending is advertised as some $130 billion for the next two years – but, by raising the “baseline” for future budgets, this really means a likely $700+ billion hike in spending and new debt over a 10-year span....
Think Ryan will have the guts to tell McYertle where to put this "budget"?

NBC to Try, Try, Again
Apparently NBC ran out of material for "news" so it recycled the several-months-old flimflammery that "Russia got into state voting systems."
Next thing you know, NBC will be announcing that water is wet and bears poop in the woods.
By the way, the Russkis didn't really get anywhere with their attempts.
However, the FBI will be checking your phone conversations for the last 120 days to make certain you are not opposed to Obama. Obama has asked for a report on the FBI's activity in that regard.

SURPRISE!!! Obozo Tracked Trump-Spying
Please sit down and get your fainting remedy handy.....
It seems that the Ultimate Slime 'wanted to know everything' that the little Feeb lovebirds were doing and learning while spying on Trump, his family, his friends, and his campaign workers and supporters.
Claude Rains, call your office.

Cops Shoot the Good Guy ....
This is one of those "How do these idiots get hired AND get to use a gun??" stories.
Don't worry. The cops are all home, safe. The good guy is in the hospital.

Trade Deficit Is From Strong Economy? Not Really
As usual, Tonelson has a contrarian view on trade which is easily proved.
First, the conventional wisdom.
...According to reporter Paul Wiseman, “[W]hen it comes to trade, there’s a flip-side to good times [touted by President Trump and others]: ‘A stronger economy will draw in more imports’ as confident consumers seek out foreign products, says Bernard Baumohl, chief economist at the Economic Outlook Group. (Wiseman is the AP reporter on economic matters.)
And:
...“‘If the goal is to reduce the trade deficit, we know how to do that — just send our economy crashing and we won’t be able to afford to import as much’ says Bryan Riley, director of the conservative National Taxpayers Union’s Free Trade Initiative.”....
Tonelson:
...This relationship holds more often than not. But the notion unmistakably conveyed by Wiseman and especially by the supposed authorities he cites – that it always holds – just doesn’t bear scrutiny....
And he goes on to prove it, using stats from 1961 ffd. Stick that in your "free trade" pipe, folks.

It's the FBI Which Will "ConCrisis" the USA
It is becoming more and more clear that it is the FBI (and, unspoken, the CIA and NSA) which will precipitate a "constitutional crisis" in the USA.
...now we have the intelligence agencies and FBI warning Congress that they may no longer play the game of partial, slow-walked compliance with Congressional subpeonas, but may just cut out the middleman and announce that they are now Sovereign Government Agencies unaccountable to the public and independent of any oversight or direction from the elected branches of government....
It is only co-incidence that top FEEBS are vitriolically opposed to Non-Establishment leaders like Trump.
Put that another way: the FEEBS (et. al.) are very happy to support Leftish-Establishment types. I'll remind you that both Bill AND Hillary were criminal actors throughout their public "service" lives. Radio silence from the FEEBS, CIA, and NSA.....
Either the FBI reports to the Presidentially-appointed A.G. or it does not. If the FEEBS decide "not"--and also decide that Congressional oversight is more than they can bear, then we DO have a "Constitutional Crisis."

Don't Call Bp. Sorondo "Raca".....
We're told in the Gospel that we should not call another "raca."
OK, then. We'll just re-post the news story and let you, dear reader, draw your own conclusions.
According to the head of the Vatican’s Pontifical Academies for Sciences and Social Sciences, China’s current communist regime which is infamous for its massive scale of human rights violations is the “best [at] implementing the social doctrine of the Church.”
Archbishop Marcelo Sánchez Sorondo told this to the Spanish-language version of Vatican Insider, and the Catholic Herald translated his remarks.
Sorondo praised China as “extraordinary.”...
Well, they are "extraordinary" in the sense that the ChiComs have killed an enormous number of their own citizens, both pre- and post-birth. They--in extraordinary fashion--outpaced both Hitler and Stalin. So obviously, Sorondo is correct. See??
And there's more!!
...“The economy does not dominate politics, as happens in the United States, something Americans themselves would say,” he said. “You do not have shantytowns, you do not have drugs, young people do not take drugs.”
China’s support of the globalist Paris Climate Agreement – a deal from which President Trump withdrew the United States – means it has assumed a “moral leadership that others have abandoned,” Sorondo said....
No shantytowns, no druggies. Uh-huh. If you say so, Excellency. Let's ignore the shocking rise in elderly suicides because the elderly are not druggies and don't live in shanties--that you know of, anyway.
As to the 'moral leadership' on the environment, two things: why are people in China's largest industrial cities wearing breathing masks? And why is the Yangtze River the single largest source of plastic debris in the oceans?
This Bishop was appointed to his position by a Jesuit. That is the takeaway here, people.

One More Chance at Killing ObozoCare?
Heritage Foundation thinks there will be only one more chance to put ObozoCare (mostly) down.
...Since late last year, GOP leaders have been planning to pump tens of billions of dollars’ worth of new federal spending into the veins of insurance companies that are hemorrhaging red ink on the Obamacare exchanges.
The transfusion is expected to be a concoction of two bills. The first, championed by Sens. Lamar Alexander, R.-Tenn., and Patty Murray, D.-Wash., would appropriate cost-sharing reduction payments to insurers. The second, sponsored by Sens. Susan Collins, R.-Maine, and Bill Nelson, D.-Fla., would give insurers an additional $10 billion (and perhaps more) in federal cash....
Well, if anyone deserves $10 BN or so, it's the bastards who pushed for ObozoCare, right?
RoJo's alternative--which almost kills off this monster--is not dead yet.
...Not all congressional Republicans have conceded the repeal issue. A handful of them continue behind-the-scenes discussions about the Graham-Cassidy proposal that gained momentum last summer, only to fizzle in late September. The measure takes a Copernican approach to health reform, replacing Obamacare’s Washington-centrism with a system that provides states with resources and flexibility to establish consumer-centered health insurance programs....
RoJo got elected on the promise that he would repeal ObozoCare. When Ted Cruz took a serious but unpopular stand on the matter, RoJo ran away.
Maybe Ron will redeem himself.

Fire Sessions? Nope. He's Going to Put Cecile Richards in Prison
Although yours truly is extremely unhappy with Sessions' decision to ignore Hillary's criminal espionage (and that of all her subordinates, and Obama), it's not yet time to fire Sessions. Not even close.
The Swamp is vast, people. Trump is starting at one end (regulation, taxation, foreign policy/armed forces, national security) and Sessions has been tasked with taking the other end, the far-less-visible, beneath-the-radar investigations and house-cleanings that take time, personnel, and patience.
Like this one:
...U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions has announced that Planned Parenthood is indeed currently under criminal investigation by the FBI and the DOJ, (hopefully not by those involved with the dubious Trump Russian investigation)....
Planned Parenthood is a criminal enterprise which has killed THOUSANDS more than The Mob, or--for that matter--even Jos. Stalin. But they are clever and have a lot of very close friends in The Hive. Sessions has a hard job here.
By the way:
...As news that the Nunes memo was soon to be released – a memo that was purported to implicate those involved with the Fusion GPS fake Russian dossier – Richards suddenly tendered her resignation as CEO of Planned Parenthood on January 24, 2018....
As Tom Clancy and other sages have often said: "There is NO SUCH THING as co-incidence."

So. T-Mobile Is Equality-God?
Didn't watch all of it, but was present when T-Mobile's preach was aired.
Don't have them now, won't have them in the future. Don't need to be talked down to by some West German outfit.
Apparently the NFL is bound and determined to reduce its fan base by 60+% by 2020. According to the ratings, that is an objective which they will meet.

Nobody Gave a Damn About Carter Page
Well, well. The plot thickens, as we used to say.
Seems that the current Durbin/Schiff line of crap is that the Feebs pulled their FISA warrant on Carter Page.
Not really.
[In 2013] The FBI was investigating and wiretapping Russians. It had no idea who Page was. By listening to Russians, however, the FBI discovered that Page was in touch with Russians.
What they would have done next is standard operation procedure in the counterintelligence world: they did some background on Page, contacted him, and got him to cooperate against those Russians. Anyone who read the court filing in the resulting case–including the Russians–would have had no trouble figuring out that Page had been cooperating with the FBI.
The likelihood that the Russians almost certainly knew all this–and we know they characterized Page as an “idiot”–makes the notion that all of a sudden in 2016 they were using Page as some sort of master spy even more absurd than it already was on its face....
The corrupto-crats Comey, McCabe, Rosenstein, Lynch, (etc.) needed to spy on Page so they could spy on everyone else who ever talked to Trump.
Page is a doofus, a jock-sniffer whose lust for money is his most outstanding characteristic. He's not very smart, and certainly not a "Master Spy." But he served a purpose.

"Harsh Punishment" for WellsFraudo??
If you want to know how the Establishment Left thinks, read Bloomberg.
In this item, they opine that Wells Fargo Bank was "harshly punished" by the Fed for its multiple offenses against the US taxpayer and its own customers.
No prison for the perps (or their superiors.) No fines against them, either.
Just "no growth" for the bank, for a while.
This is the rough equivalent of what happened at the IRS following the "f*&^ conservatives" game, and what WILL happen to the perps at FBI/CIA/NSA when this Trump thing is over.
But don't you DARE park without feeding the meter, pissant!

WallyWorld v. Amazon. Fun to Watch!!
Since I usually do not shop at either place, this is popcorn-time for me.
Apparently Amazon wants you to pay $100/year to get your stuff in only 2 days. (Since I don't shop there, I can go to Cabela's and bring the ammo home right now, and NOT pay $100.)
WallyWorld, however, does NOT require $100/year for 2-day shipping. (Since I don't shop there, I can still go to Cabela's and bring the ammo home right now, instead of waiting two days!)
Amazon may have a "quality of goods" card to play, as WallyWorld is notorious for its not-so-good stuff. (But Cabela's offers the entire range of ammo quality, AND gun-quality, too!!)
See!! This will be fun!!

Is David Brooks an Idiot?
There's no question that David Brooks is attracted to fine creases in a black man's pants. He told us that.
But there is legitimate question as to whether Brooks' IQ exceeds room temperature in a Siberian barn in December, as Steve Sailer demonstrates.
Example:
You want another? No problem!! (Brooks' remarks remain indented, except for the quote from Reiner.)
For example, The Colony on the beach in Malibu, Calif., which is home to outspoken Democrats like Barbra Streisand and Rob Reiner, is very pro-immigration, having voted 67–26 for Hillary over Trump in 2016. Malibu recently declared itself a “sanctuary city.” During the Democrats’ failed government shutdown, Reiner thundered:
On the other hand, as Brooks’ hypothesis would not predict, Malibu is also the whitest municipality in the huge county. And Reiner’s walled-in gated celebrity community of The Colony is even whiter....
Why, yes, the immigrants brought prosperity!! They do the gardening, construction, and housemaid work for FAR less than minimum wage, and without any of those silly Governmental programs like OSHA oversight, overtime pay, FUCA and SUCA......we could go on, but you get the point.
David Brooks struggles to get past those creases.
But there is legitimate question as to whether Brooks' IQ exceeds room temperature in a Siberian barn in December, as Steve Sailer demonstrates.
Example:
If you start in rural New England and drive down into Appalachia or across into the Upper Midwest you will be driving through county after county with few immigrants. These rural places are often 95 percent white…. They are often marked by economic stagnation, social isolation, family breakdown and high opioid addiction. (Brooks)First of all, is it even true that immigration correlates with prosperity? After all, when adjusted for cost of living, California has both the most foreign-born residents and the most impoverished people in the country. The state with the second-highest percentage of poor people is Florida, which has the second-highest percentage of immigrants. (Sailer)
You want another? No problem!! (Brooks' remarks remain indented, except for the quote from Reiner.)
It is a blunt fact of life that, these days, immigrants show more of these virtues than the native-born....So, of course immigrants bring prosperity to wherever admits them, unlike those ignorant rednecks in West Virginia.
Make no mistake, this shutdown boils down to one thing: RACISM. GOP frightened to death of the browning of America. They will lose this last big battle of the Civil War. Diversity is our strength. As Brooks’ theory would predict, the residents of The Colony reap their rightful rewards for their tolerance, virtue, and opposition to borders, living in homes with an average price of $13 million, the highest in Los Angeles County.
On the other hand, as Brooks’ hypothesis would not predict, Malibu is also the whitest municipality in the huge county. And Reiner’s walled-in gated celebrity community of The Colony is even whiter....

That Stuff About "Field Guys Are Great!!"?......Well,....
So yah, Comey and 5, 6, maybe 20, 30, higher-ups in FBI are slimeball hacks.
"But, but, but..... the Field Agents, they're all Model Americans!!"
Really?
Prosecutors say witness testimony, audio and video evidence, plus bullet trajectory analysis yielded one conclusion: FBI agent W. Joseph Astarita lied about firing two shots at the truck of refuge occupation spokesman Robert "LaVoy" Finicum in 2016 after he swerved into a snowbank....
... The government response also reveals that Oregon State Police SWAT troopers at the scene, ordinarily required to wear body cameras, didn't that day at the request of the FBI. The FBI did obtain video from FBI surveillance planes flying above the scene.
State police detectives also normally record interviews of officers who might be involved in a shooting, but they didn't that night when questioning the FBI Hostage Rescue Team members, again at the FBI's request. A follow-up interview with the hostage team members also came with unusual conditions, prosecutors note....
Then there was Len Horiuchi, who sniper-killed a mother holding her baby in a remarkable display of FBI courage and valor.
You've seen a million cop shows on TV. Ever wonder why all those local cops on TV HATES the Feebs? Think that's just co-incidence? Or that the screenwriters just made that up?
Think again.
Seriously. Can the Feebs' roster defy all the averages and hire nothing but Top. Men.?

Full of Schiff
There are some who think this guy's words are Gospel.
The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms…and according to California Congressman Adam Schiff, those pesky Russians are using bots to promote the second amendment with an ultimate goal of having Americans ‘kill each other.’
Once again, another brilliant plan hatched by Putin…good thing Schiff caught on to it and can now begin seizing American’s guns so as to thwart Russia’s evil plan....
OK, then. I guess that makes me into a Russian bot!
Noztrovie!

Actually, Michelle Malkin, You Don't Get It
Michelle Malkin still thinks this is all about The Republican Party.
It's not, Michelle. It's about this whole thing called "The United States of America."
Making it All About the Republican Party is, frankly, stupid. Because 70% of Americans do not give a crap about the Republican Party.
But lots of people DO care about The United States of America.
So the Pubbies have the opportunity to present themselves as Concerned About Justice for Already-Citizen AMERICANS. You know: the OTHER "Dreamers."
Don't you get that? Trump did. That's how he won--even though he seems to have forgotten that already.

Patterico Buries the Lede
The NeverTrump RedState can't he'p themselves dowaaahn theaaah in JawJa, even when they import talent from Los Angeles. Bless their souls.
So yah, Patterico, who is A Prosecutor (!!) gets all gassy about whether the Russki-jock sniffing moneygrabber Cahhhhtehhhh Page was or was not a Trump campaign adviser when the FISA warrant was issued.
What Patterico does not want you to remember: the warrant allowed Obama (and Lynch, and Comey, and McCabe, and the State Department, and that vicious bint Jarrett, among others) to "uncover" dozens of OTHER Trump contacts and workers.
Summarily, you idiots: WE DO NOT CARE ABOUT PAGE. WE CARE ABOUT OBAMA'S LEOs SPYING ON EVERYBODY EVER ASSOCIATED WITH TRUMP.
Nice try, Jock-o. Maybe next time.

Took a Little Drive Yesterday
Had to run to the Twin Cities and back yesterday. That's about an 8.5-hour deal (including stops for coffee, gasoline, and quick/dirty lunch.) But yesterday it snowed, so it was a 12.5 hour deal.
The only really scary part of the trip was finding black ice just north of the Dells--and finding it on a concrete surface. When you hit that stuff, you dare not act; instead, you "un"-act, taking the foot off the gas and loosening the grip on the steering wheel. It worked, just as using the downshifting feature of the automatic tranny works for decelerating without using the brakes.
But as it turns out, at least a half-dozen other people were ...ahhhh....confused by driving in snow. They could be found in the ditches and in the woods (true!!) in the medians north of the Dells. One poor woman failed to negotiate an entry-ramp and died.
Some of the fun was watching the Pennsylvania- and New Jersey- plated cars driving as though the roads were dry and clear, then suddenly slowing after getting a dose of reality. Their underwear may be a bit fetid. Yes, they were going to the Big Game.
Other fun was driving past 50-ish Twin Cities matrons with a 10-and-2 deathgrip on the wheels of their Audis and Benzes, making almost 40 miles/hour on an Interstate where everyone else was doing 60 safely. They didn't want to tell hubby that they crashed the car while shopping, ya'know....
Returning, several hours later, the 10 mile stretch north of the Dells was still a mess, although there seemed to be fewer cars in the ditch. Of course, it was night-time, so the only ones I saw were the ones with their lights still on, or near the road. But it wasn't hard to tell where the "cold front" boundary was at that time; it was about 30 miles north of Madison--when all the snow on the road suddenly turned to water.
Oh, there were still "death-grippers" driving 40 or 45 MPH--but now they were millennials in their jalopy-Subarus or ancient VW Rabbits, hogging that left lane because they are righteously slow drivers.
Stupid kids. A brake-check works wonders on them after you get past 'em.

Next Bomb Will Drop on Sid Blumenthal and.....
Sidney Blumenthal is an excellent example of excrement wearing a human costume.
Apparently Little Sidney teamed up with a like-minded (and like-smelling) reporter and far-Left activist named Cody Shearer, and produced a SECOND "dossier."
As you may recall, Little Sidney was very, very, tight with The Pantsuit-Wearing Health Crisis (who will NEVER be President), so naturally, he had lots of dealings with the State Department.
Both Grassley and Nunes are onto that like....ahhh.....fleas on dogs. That's why Kerry and Pelosi are so worried that they are becoming incoherent, yapping about "....sources and methods...." and "....attack on the Constitution, separation of powers...."
It's the End of the World as THEY Know it, which is just fine with normal American patriots.
Order more popcorn, even if it has to come from Robin Vos!

Where's the "Chant Choir" in Oconomowoc?
A friend relayed the information that there would be a Chant choir singing in Oconomowoc.
That was brought up several months ago. So we've been paying attention to the church bulletins out there.
No Chant choir. (There may have been one occasion on which they've sung; we haven't caught every single Sunday bulletin over the last several months.)
Hmmm. There was ONE EF Mass celebrated out there. I guess that didn't get out of the gates, either.

Next Target: US State Department
If you think that only the FBI, IRS, Justice Department, and CIA were run by corrupt jock-sniffers during the Obama reign of terror, you're sadly under-informed.
State was at least as bad. Nunes' committee is taking on State as we type this, and for good reason, as the link here makes clear.
To Obama and his slatterns, "national security" was just another casualty in their war on the USA. And they have the gall to yap about "rapists"!!

Truth Brings Perspective To "Brotherhood"
Peter is completely, totally, unalterably opposed to women serving in combat roles. You can read his entire post--some of which is slightly graphic--and understand why he (and a lot of others, including yours truly) holds that position.
Mid-post, however, he makes a point which is very important.
...Women are seen as being there to be exploited, nothing more.
That's a shocking, disgusting thing to say in a First World society where women are equal to men in every way . . . but they're only equal in that First World society. ....
A lot of pixels have been devoted to tearing down those who are chary of admitting immigrants willy-nilly, and in large numbers. After all, it is argued, 'we are all brothers, equal....' (etc.)
That's an argument which deliberately elides the crucial middle: that the cultures are "equal." It is true that 'we are all children of God.' But when the culture of the immigrant is NOT equal, there's no moral imperative to admit 'em, period. None.

Remember These Names. They Are Liars
These people LIED LIKE HELL to get permission to spy on Trump & Co.
And maybe you, too. You don't know?
They are perjurers and liars.
And maybe you, too. You don't know?
They are perjurers and liars.
James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Sally Yates, Dana Boente, and Rod Rosenstein
We Can Name a Building for Comey!!
The liar and Co-Conspirator James Comey observed that 'there are no buildings named for Jos. McCarthy' because (in Comey's little mind) Joe McCarthy was a Bad Man.
A Pubbie House member followed up, saying that there will be no buildings named for Comey.
That Pubbie is wrong.
We can name a Federal Prison after Comey--and we can fill it with the hundreds of Government employees who aided and abetted Obama, Clinton, Lynch, Holder, and Comey in their criminal enterprise/racketeering/espionage.
Oh, that's not all. The rest will come from the IRS.

The Obama/Comey/Clinton Crime Syndicate
Yes, that's what it was. Obama and Hillary both committed serious crimes against the US while they were in office, like multiple and flagrant violations of the Espionage Act and illegal 'conversion' of Clinton's State Department offices to the benefit of the Clinton family. And let's not forget selling the uranium mines to the Russians.
And spying on US citizens who were associated with Donald Trump. (Spying on political opponents is just what Francis Schmitz and Slimebucket Chisholm did, too. Democrats are all the same.)
Obama and Clinton were aided by Comey and Lynch--and when Trump won the election, they HAD to make criminals out of Trump's people--like Mike Flynn.
It's all in this podcast from Dan Bongino. You have to pay for it, but it is 2 hours and 45 minutes of pure gold. Bongino knows how the Feds work (he was one) and he has sources, too.
By the way, the report on some of this comes out today. It's likely we will learn that Mike Flynn was railroaded: indicted and tried on false pretenses. THAT is why Mueller asked for a delay of sentencing, friends.

Two Things About the Left
Blaska hits one of the two:
...Our liberal-progressive-socialists acquaintances who blame police for crime now demand respect for law enforcement, that being the secretive FBI. The Bill of Rights champions who once condemned an unaccountable J. Edgar Hoover now want no accountability to the elected representatives of the citizenry....
Yup. The only standards they have are double standards, ya'know.
Another: the people who claim that Trump is crazy/deranged/mashuganah.....are the very same people who scream that there are MORE than two genders.
Yup.
