RedState notes that the National Education Association (NEA) scrubbed its "Business Item 39" page from its website. That was the item which described Critical Race Theory and resolved to teach it in grade- and high-schools in the USA. The resolution was approved. No surprise; NEA is as radical-Left as any other group in the US, perhaps excluding BLM or the Maoist Antifa bunch.
Why is that significant in Wisconsin?
Simple. School superintendents who would like to become State Superintendents absolutely, positively, MUST cater to the NEA and its locals (WEAC) to get elected to a State-wide post. NEA/WEAC has money, volunteers, and the mailing list.
Don't endorse their agenda? Fuggedabout any political ambitions you have. And forget about governing the schools in your current District, too. You can be rubbed out with only a few well-timed rumors.
So ambitious Superintendents must govern their School Board instead of the reverse. That's what happened in Mequon and is also the case in Elmbrook.
