The Turtle has a problem.
U.S. Senators Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), James Lankford (R-Okla.), Steve Daines (R-Mont.), John Kennedy (R-La.), Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), and Mike Braun (R-Ind.), and Senators-Elect Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.), Roger Marshall (R-Kan.), Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.), and Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.)...
TWELVE of his caucus will object to the certification on January 6th--remember, Josh Hawley (MO) kicked it off 2 days ago.
We know McConnell is a vengeful stab-you-in-the-back, bury you in innuendo, finance-your-opponent, back-room kinda guy.
Think he can screw over 25% of his caucus?

McConnell has only done enough to get along with President Trump and can’t be trusted at all. Mike Pence is to Donald Trump what George H.W. Bush was to Ronald Reagan. Pence isn’t to be trusted and I believe will stab Donald Trump in the back.
Last Refuge is a cynic:
As a result of Senator Hawley the republican senate is in an uncomfortable position. None of the aforementioned senators would participate in an electoral challenge without the authorization of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, the ultimate DeceptiCon.
McConnell knows that Hawley’s action is going to initiate a roll-call vote. In order for McConnell to survive the backlash of We The People showing up en masse at the same time as the Senate certification is taking place, Mitch is positioning his upper chamber to give the impression of support. The action by Ted Cruz et al is politically motivated; consider it bandwaggoning as an outcome of what Hawley is forcing upon the chamber.
I have reason to believe that RoJo got dog-housed by McConnell in the first year of RoJo's Senate term. So it's possible that RoJo is acting in accord with McConnell's permission. On the other hand, RoJo mumbled about "last term," so maybe he's doing what he thinks is right and to Hell with Turtle.
