Federal government employees in Washington will be permitted to leave work hours early on Tuesday as the region anticipates just an inch of snowfall. One to three inches of snow is expected.
"Employees of Federal offices in the Washington, DC area are authorized for early departure," the Office of Personnel Management said in a notice to staff. "Employees should depart 4 hours earlier than their normal departure time and may request UNSCHEDULED LEAVE to depart prior to their staggered departure time. All employees MUST DEPART at no later than 1:00 pm at which time FEDERAL OFFICES are CLOSED."...
Here's a quick challenge: see if you can notice a difference between "working" and "not working" output from the hive of drones......
Poor, poor, babies.

My friends who were federal employees in the DC area in the 70's, 80's and 90's said the real beneficiaries of snow day early releases were the bar owners in DC and the Maryland and Northern Virginia suburbs. No one went home, they just stayed and drank.
