This will be interesting.
...Daimler banned from its luxury cars the air-conditioning refrigerant
made by Honeywell and its partner DuPont which has a far lower potential
to warm the climate than an older chemical still used by Daimler’s
Mercedes brand despite an EU-wide phase out that began in January.
The EU’s scientific research arm JRC is expected to analyse the
report by the German federal motor transport authority KBA in the next
few weeks and advise whether the coolant is indeed flammable enough to
cause material risks, as Daimler says.
Shall we go "green" and incinerate a few car passengers (as the Tesla does), or shall we tell the EU, Honeywell, and DuPont to put their stuff where the sun never shines?
There's VERY big money at stake here, folks. Read the link.

To be fair, Tesla hasn't torched anybody...yet. Given their track record, however, it won't be long.
From failure comes success. With your attitude, the Wright Brothers should have just quit after their numerous mishaps.
Tesla reported that it had delivered 5,500 cars in the quarter and had a net loss of $38.5 million.
Yet, Tesla has a Vehicle Gross Profit margin of 21% compared to 8.99% for Toyota and 3.4% for Ford.
It earned 12 cents per share and grew cash on hand by $49M despite aggressive expansion in Europe.
The CEO says battery cell capacity will need to double worldwide for Tesla to produce a mass-market electric car, and that it is working on a plan to build a lithium-ion battery production facility.
Per usual, Dud29 and his egg on his friend lack vision.
GVPM might be different if Tesla gave a damn about battery safety.
And they haven't (yet) been sued.
Vision? Or wanton disregard?
Read for meaning, Dad29 --> From failure comes success. With your attitude, the Wright Brothers should have just quit after their numerous mishaps.
From Vox Day--Failure is the norm. I can't stress this enough! You're usually going to fail, so fail as fast and as often as you can, because failure is the seed for future success. By the same token, because it is the norm, it is nothing to fear. Nothing! And each time, you learn more and you learn how to go about the next opportunity more effectively.
