Got a chuckle out of this post. Our kids (last one moved out in '04)bunked in the lowest level of our quad-level home. The spousal unit and I used to refer to that area as "the free utility zone". Lights left on; long, long showers; windows open in the winter for "fresh air"; you know the drill. Both registered astonishment with us when they moved from dorm life to apartment life and began paying "their share" of the utility bills at their campus hovels.
