The amount of ethanol required to be used as a motor fuel would be ramped up to 36 billion gallons a year by 2022, a sevenfold increase over today's production.
We know that the cost of corn has jumped since the initial ethanol requirements were put in play, and that this has caused unrest in Mexico.
The Democrat response? "Let them eat cake, or whatever those people eat--just not corn!"
Of course, with a 20% annual food-inflation rate in the US, it might get a little nasty here, too.
