The NSA will likely get a gift from Sen. Mitch McConnell this week: a massive reauthorization of their metadata collection and surveillance program, codified in the PATRIOT Act. Even though the NSA's practice of invading privacy to collect cell phone information is uniformly unpopular with both parties, and measures have been taken to reform the process and even interrupt the NSA's authority, in pursuit of a perfect record of completion for the Senate, McConnell is bypassing objectors and shoving the bill through. It could allow the NSA to keep scanning your phone bills for evidence of your terrorist activities through 2020.

Another Look at the Rockefellers
Bits and pieces of US history are not kind to the Rockefeller family, who were murderous thugs with a LOT of money.

About 11,000 miners in southern Colorado went on strike against the powerful Colorado Fuel & Iron Corporation (CF&I) to protest low pay, dangerous working conditions, and the company’s autocratic dominance over the workers’ lives. The CF&I, which was owned by the Rockefeller family and Standard Oil, responded to the strike by immediately evicting the miners and their families from company-owned shacks. With help from the United Mine Workers, the miners moved with their families to canvas tent colonies scattered around the nearby hills and continued to strike.
When the evictions failed to end the strike, the Rockefeller interests hired private detectives that attacked the tent colonies with rifles and Gatling guns. The miners fought back, and several were killed. When the tenacity of the strikers became apparent, the Rockefellers approached the governor of Colorado, who authorized the use of the National Guard. The Rockefellers agreed to pay their wages....

RoJo's been doing his campaigning (Jay Weber, cheerleader-in-chief) partly on his Senate position as Chair, Homeland Security and Gummint Affairs. He's telling us that this is an Important Slot!! that he has because ....well.....Important Slot!!
What's not so important to RoJo? The First Amendment.
...On March 18, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), along with Sen. James Lankford (R-OK), introduced a pair of joint resolutions to disapprove and nullify the D.C. laws – S. J. Res. 10 to disapprove of RHNDA and S. J. Res. 11 to disapprove of the Human Rights Amendment Act. Congress only has 30 legislative days to countermand the laws, and the parliamentarians have set that calendar date at May 4.
Accordingly, Republicans have a unique opportunity to force a privileged motion on the floor that is not subject to a filibuster nor can be amended. But time is of the essence. Furthermore, these resolutions of disapproval can only obtain privileged status if they are passed out of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and if the resolutions originate in the Senate first.
Sadly, the committee chairman, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) has not scheduled a markup for either resolution all month, and there are only two weeks remaining. Nobody in leadership is willing to touch these bills with a ten foot pole. They have all offered a torrent of excuses as to why they lack the time to conduct a markup and half-day floor consideration of the resolutions. Evidently, confirming Loretta Lynch and passing the Corker ‘Democrat loin cloth Iran bill’ is of more importance...
This line is particularly telling:
Nobody ever assumed that Johnson would have the courage to stare down Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), his home state Democrat on the committee, with regards to the anti-religious bigotry of the sexual identity agenda,...

Red Flags Over "Justice" System
The Chisholm abomination joins the Lerner abomination.
...It's a common conceit among lawyers that our legal system is the justice system - which is not fully true: It's a justice system and a pretty good one at that but it's not the only system of justice. So there's an assumption that if the legal system is manipulated and even blocked, then there's simply no recourse at all for those on the receiving end of this treatment and so they'll just accept it. Which is clearly what the above people and their allies seem to believe. Well out of inertia of trust in the system this is true up to a point - but only up to a point.
But when that trust that justice will actually be delivered is finally broken, stoic acceptance of the jiggered results of a broken system can no longer be counted upon either. Instead you will see a reversion to the older, rougher justice delivery firmware that's embedded in our DNA and it will be ugly. But not necessarily unjust.
Given that people have had their lives destroyed for merely making a bad joke on social media, wearing the wrong shirt, answering a hypothetical question about catering incorrectly, and using the wrong ordering of words in a phrase, not to mention threatened with jail for the act of committing politics, I see no reason that Chisholm, Kluka, Lerner, and Machen who have done far worse should be able to walk the streets and go through life comfortably and carefree....

...Walker became the first declared or potential 2016 GOP presidential candidate to stake out a position on immigration fully in line with that of Senate Judiciary Committee subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest chairman Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL)....
Specifically:
" ...the next president and the next congress need to make decisions about a legal immigration system that’s based on, first and foremost, on protecting American workers and American wages,..."
His "secure the border" rhetoric is much stronger. And here's something new:
"Then I think you need to enforce the law and the way you effectively do that is to require every employer in America to use an effective E-Verify system and by effective I mean you need to require particularly small businesses and farmers and ranchers. We got to have a system that works, but then the onus is on the employers and the penalties have to be steep that they’re only hiring people who are here, who are legal to be here. No amnesty, if someone wants to be a citizen, they have to go back to their country of origin and get in line behind everybody else who’s waiting...."
This leaves Cruz (et al) behind by a lap or two.

The Cost of ObozoCare Is Very High
We know a couple who both work outside the home.
His employer offers health insurance which has total deductibles/copays of around $4,000/year (single coverage) in addition to premium payments of ~$200/month. Her employer offers health insurance (family) with deductibles/copays of around $5,000/year but there is no visible premium charged for coverage. (It's buried in the pay-scale.)
This year, her employer decided to back-charge for 'spousal coverage'. The reason? The Company now has ObozoCare compliant insurance and it's considerably more expensive than last year's plan.
So she is now paying $300.00/month in premiums in addition to whatever is "buried" in the pay-scale, with exactly the same deductible/copay scheme as was in force last year.
IOW, ObozoCare added $3600/year in insurance costs for this couple, who are lower-middle class folks.
They'll survive, of course. But that $3600.00 is money which will not be spent someplace else. It's a deduct straight off the bottom line.
There are 3-4,000 other folks working for her company who have just gotten a similar kick in the ass from Obozo.

Common Sense Foreign Wars
And now, a few words of common sense regarding US foreign affairs.
The more active America’s foreign policy, the more the United States has to spend on the military: the “defense” budget is the price of Washington’s foreign policy. American military personnel and contractors die. Enemies are created, some of whom become terrorists. A national security state develops.
Thus, Americans committed to limited government and individual liberty should support a foreign policy based on humility and restraint. An imperial foreign policy like that today inevitably inflates–indeed, requires–a Leviathan state.
Some "conservatives" are unable to add 2+2 and get the above equasion to balance. They're not "conservative." They are either Statists or idiots.

Conservatives for Israel? Really?
In the age of Obozo, the term "the national interest" has been trampled into the ground, principally by Obozo.
At least on the domestic front.
But that term, "the national interest" has far more meaning on the international scene. And it may well be that "the national interest" is best served with less fervor for Israel.
...Adelson, Paul Singer, and other right-wing, pro-Israel donors, their spending unleashed by the Citizens United Supreme Court decision, have pushed the GOP past the Democrats as recipients of “pro-Israel” PAC money.... If Sheldon Adelson and Paul Singer had tried to purchase the Mideast policy of the Republican Party 20 or 30 years ago, they would have failed, even under the new campaign finance rules....
And then there's Rupert Murdoch's $3 million/year subsidy of Warmonger Billy Kristol:

An Issue for Tomorrow's Conservative Gathering
Wiggy has advertised tomorrow's Dohnal-fest; speakers will include Ryan, Johnson, and Grothmann.

They don’t “hate gays.” But, if it is to last, the party must stand for traditional marriage, AND limited government, AND a foreign policy that protects our national interests as well as our allies, AND low taxes, AND border security, AND a vibrant economy through the relentless application of capitalism.
Platform aside, if the party could simply do what they claim to be in favor of, libertarians and the youth will vote for their own upward mobility, and cease their fixation on the mess that radical egalitarianism produces.
Yah, well, I dare you to do so.
Watch them all run away and hide, like they did on the budget, ObozoCare, and illegal immigration.

Cruz: It's a War on the Catholic Church
Ted Cruz jumped into 2nd place in the polls for a reason: he gets it--and it's not just the Middle East anymore.
"This is today a war on the Catholic Church. This is today a war on believers of any faith whose religious teachings are not entirely in concert with the rigid dogma of the far left.
Just last year, every single Senate Democrat voted in favor of legislation that would have gutted the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act.
It was a sad day in the United States Senate, and ... I gave a speech ... standing alongside a picture of John F. Kennedy who said 'if a man will not stand for religious liberty, I will not stand with you.'
Given what we've seen of late in the Middle East, tell me: what's the difference between the Obozo/Holder Democrats and ISIS--other than the choice of weapons?

The project is a joint venture between the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the State Department.

Pray, Get Arrested
Spineless Boehner grew a spine. He ordered the arrest of 7 pro-lifers who prayed.

The press has already reported flawed software that hinders the ability of the plane to employ weapons, communicate information, and detect threats; maintenance problems so severe that the F-35 has an “overdependence” on contractor maintainers and “unacceptable workarounds” (behind paywall) and is only able to fly twice a week; and a high-rate, premature production schedule that ignores whether the program has demonstrated essential combat capabilities or proven it’s safe to fly. All of these problems are increasing costs and risks to the program. The agency is spending $15,000 to create a wireless system that will track how much water a hotel guest uses to get them to “modify their behavior.”
Yes, that's 'hotel' showers.

McConnell has just said that Obozo will get a larger credit card.
What McConnell is telling Obama is that no matter what he does from now until October, Republicans will always give him the debt ceiling increase he desires. Hence, Obama can demand anything he wants and attach it to the debt ceiling – with full confidence that McConnell’s self-expression of fear and culpability for default will drive him to capitulate.
You can bet that the Wisconsin delegation will help. Sensenbrenner and Ryan are hopeless cases--one a fraud, the other a toady to Boehner. As to the rest, wind-speed will determine their vote.
Obozo's objective? To screw this country into oblivion.

Common Core "Fact, Opinion, Judgment" Horrors
This essay mentions Common Core, but that doesn't mean that the rot isn't in other curricular choices.
What it is, however, is rot, and it's spreading.

me if I can prove it but not a fact for you if you can’t....second, and worse, students are taught that claims are either
facts or opinions. They are given quizzes in which they must sort claims

that is true and an opinion is something that is believed, then many
claims will obviously be both....
This is where it gets interesting. That 'true for you/not for me' leitmotif is transferred to moral decisionmaking (!??!)

So that kid you're sending to the very best, finest, most up-to-date screwel, will hold the proposition "It is wrong to kill Mommy when she gets old and drools and talks silly" as a mere opinion, not a truth.
Well, then, you may get exactly what you deserve, I suppose.

The New Rite's Blah-ness
A while back we mentioned that the OF's primary problem is its fixation on text, which is unhealthy.
...it was an unkind fate that allowed the new mass to come to completion just when – elsewhere – the importance of non-verbal communication was being rediscovered.
This was what was missing from the Liturgical Movement. An appreciation of non-verbal communication is not incompatible with the writings of the earlier exponents, such as Guéranger, despite his emphasis on 'understanding'. But as the movement develops, and turns into the movement to create the Novus Ordo, a blindness to non-verbal communication (and a parallel lack of interest in gestures and visual ceremonies) becomes increasingly evident and increasingly problematic....
This is in contrast to the Eastern Rite folks:
...as the Christian East has never forgotten, the Sacred Liturgy is not in the first place a comprehension exercise. It is the ritual worship of Almighty God employing multivalent symbols which thus become privileged sacramentals—sacred language included. Certainly, penetrating the meaning of the rites and prayers is fundamental, but this is facilitated by the work of liturgical formation (or more effectively, by liturgical habituation over a lifetime)—no short cuts, such as the quick rendering of the liturgy in the vernacular, are viable here. Even the liturgical proclamation of the texts of Sacred Scripture is not simply a didactic exercise, although certainly, the vernacular can be of immense help with participation, as indeed in some other parts of the liturgy (such as the prayers of the faithful). The Second Vatican Council knew this. But the wholesale removal of Latin from the liturgy and liturgical celebrations completely in the vernacular are contrary to what the Second Vatican Council desired and approved....

On the other hand, one doesn't have to be a cynic to believe this.

You're a Woman? Belong to Planet Fitness? RUN!!!!
Bet you didn't know this about Planet Fitness: it's a "no judgment zone." Nice, until....
Yvette Cormier ... entered the women's locker room at the Planet Fitness location at 701 Joe Mann Boulevard in Midland.
"I was blocked, because a man was standing there," Cormier said. "It freaked me out because, why is a man in here?"
Cormier said an employee at the front desk told her that the individual identifies as a woman. After taking her complaints to Planet Fitness' corporate office, Cormier said she was told that the gym was a "no judgement zone" and they would not tell the individual in question to stay out of the women's locker room....
Wait, there's more!
...According to Cormier, she returned to the gym each day between Monday and Thursday. While there, Cormier said she told women in the locker room about the individual she observed in the bathroom the weekend before.
Cormier said she then got a call from Planet Fitness' corporate office telling her that she was violating their "no judgement" policy. She says they asked if she was going to stop talking to other women in the locker room and she said she would not. Cormier said the representative told her she was no longer welcome at the gym....

Cruz reiterated his opposition to the Renewable Fuels Standard, a popular policy in Iowa that presents a thorny problem for many Republicans who campaign against crony capitalism but want to win the GOP presidential nomination.
“I recognize that this is a gathering of a lot of folks where the answer you’d like me to give is ‘I’m for the RFS, darnit;’ that’d be the easy thing to do,” he said. “But I’ll tell you, people are pretty fed up, I think, with politicians who run around and tell one group one thing, tell another group another thing, and then they go to Washington and they don’t do anything that they said they would do. And I think that’s a big part of the reason we have the problems we have in Washington, is there have been career politicians in both parties that aren’t listening to the American people and aren’t doing what they said they would do.”
And the crowd applauded, giving Cruz the warmest welcome so far...

The Incredible Lightness of Channel 12 "News"
While Channel 12 is a very good source of local TV news*, its wholesale reprint of a CNN item on the HRC email scandal is......questionable........to say the least.

1) There is no mention--at all--of "security." When the Secretary of State is sending ALL her official correspondence through some random ISP, what security is present, if any?
2) CNN glosses over the "control" matter. Yes, HRC "controlled" her email. That means that she can destroy her email and no one will know it. It also means that she can "control" exactly what IS released to State--and the press.
By the way, HRC actually had TEN separate email accounts at that domain. How many were cracked by the Russians, ISIS, or Red China? We'll never know until it is far too late.

Menendez is a supporter of Israel and is on the wrong side of the Iran nuclear proliferation debate. So, Obama most likely told Holder to go after him.
This would never have happened to Menendez had he been right down the Obama line. Do you see Charlie Reingold in cuffs? ‘Nuff said....

One part of the president's action — changes to DACA, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, to extend the period in which illegal immigrants are protected from deportation to three years from its present two years, and also to extend work permits for the same time — was scheduled to go into effect Feb. 18, 2015, three months after the president's announcement. The other part of the president's action — the newly-created DAPA, or Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents — would go into effect six months after Obama's edict.
Well, actually, no.
....In a "Defendants' Advisory" filed with Hanen's court late Tuesday, the Justice Department notified the judge that it has already implemented significant parts of the Expanded DACA program, and indeed that it has already granted expanded DACA protections and work permits to "approximately 100,000" people....
Yah, AFTER the Gummint liar/attorney had assured the judge that the regime did NOT do that. In other words, another fraud on the Court, just like the Gummint's fraud on the court regarding Fast & Furious.
Try that yourself sometime and see what happens.

Confluence Networks, based out of the British Virgin Islands, has only existed as a domain (confluence-networks.com) since April 2011, appears to be closely related to a Dubai-based media advertising firm, and has always had its domain name managed by PrivacyProtect.org, a registration privacy firm that lists addresses out of Luxembourg and Australia, but gives a phone number apparently out of Denmark, and that shows up repeatedly in connection with fraud, scam, and spam-related domains. --quoted at AOSHQ
While the old broad was 'hiding' her official correspondence from prying Congressional Republicans, she was doing so illegally. Of course, "illegal" is no bar to HRC's actions.
But the dumb sock managed to find a very questionable host, to say the least. So which national security items are now in the hands of .....ahhh......who knows who?

Yes, indeed. The Elephant Party is planning to "fix" ObozoCare if SCOTUS nukes the State subsidy screw-up. This would make them into Jackasses (as though that needs re-stating.)

Walker Shuffle
Oh yah. Scott Walker found that his SCOTUS Shuffle game doesn't cut it. So he changed his tune.
Several months ago the pro-lifers in Wisconsin knew that Fitzgerald stuffed two pro-life bills into the memory-hole of the Wisconsin Senate at Walker's request because Walker's handlers didn't want him to be......ahhh.......too pro-life, or something.
Or maybe not. Whatever.
We also mentioned that Walker used the same stupid excuse on gay "marriage". You know the one: 'Teh Courts Made Me Do It." Like abortion, we're dealing with the law of nature here.
Think Walker will reverse his field on that, like he did on illegals?

Ryan Sells the Country for His Ways & Means Seat
