What New Nuttification Is This??

Got an interesting note from GOA.

The NICS Denial Notification Act would open criminal investigations into 100% of background check denials, even though government studies show 9 out of 10 times these denials are false positives.

Passage of this language would result in criminal investigations into TENS OF THOUSANDS of innocent, law-abiding Americans for the non-crime of being denied a gun purchase by a broken background check system each year....

Something like 90% of NICS-check denials are erroneous.  Of the rest?  Usually, ATF declines to prosecute for one reason or the other.  So who wants denials to be subject to criminal investigation?

You'll not be surprised.  These are the Bedwetter-Class Senators.  That malady is bi-partisan.

A criminal investigation would at least force them to come up with evidence that the denial was legitimate. Sounds like a good way to prove the system is broken.

Appeals generally clear up the problem(s).

What this is really? An EXPENSIVE way to 'fix' the system. Full-employment act for more Government drones.
