"Blue" Hacking Its Supporters

There's some not-very-good news floating around about Portland cops gassing Proud Boys who were counter-demonstrating a BLM/Antifa event.  That's led to some 'net noises about 'Blue' losing support.

Well, maybe that's the case.  Two very recent news items provide insight.

A special task force of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department conducted raids on five New Year's Eve "super-spreader'' parties across the county, making over 90 arrests and taking seven handguns off the streets, officials said Friday....

"Special task force" of WuFlu Enforcement?  They also "detained" 900 people.

...In Gatineau, Quebec's fourth-largest city, indoor and outdoor private gatherings are currently prohibited until Jan. 10.

Some residents in Gatineau held a private New Year's Eve party. Neighbors snitched on the partygoers, and police arrived at the home around 11:30 p.m., according to CTV News. There were six adults inside the home preparing to ring in the new year....

In that event, 6 people were fined $1500.00++ and one was arrested.

The bar-owner in Staten Island?  The woman in Manitowoc County?  The woman in Idaho (?) who was arrested in front of her kids at a park?

InstaPundit quotes Ayn Rand in one of her reasonably-sane analyses:

“Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with.”

The "Blue" has made its choices.

As a member of 'the blue', I've been asking my peers for years how far they will go when things get really bad. Sadly, over half will follow whatever order they are given. Oath aside. I work with plenty of 'brown shirts' who will gladly strip your rights away. The honest ones continue to retire or quit in droves. I can leave any time, but the real fun is just beginning.
