Unintended Consequences: Medicare

Yah, Mayo is efficient and has excellent quality-results. Obama himself said so!

That's why the Feds cut back their Medicare payments.

Oops!

The Mayo Clinic, praised by President Barack Obama as a national model for efficient health care, will stop accepting Medicare patients as of tomorrow at one of its primary-care clinics in Arizona, saying the U.S. government pays too little.

More than 3,000 patients eligible for Medicare, the government’s largest health-insurance program, will be forced to pay cash if they want to continue seeing their doctors at a Mayo family clinic in Glendale, northwest of Phoenix, said Michael Yardley, a Mayo spokesman.

Something to look forward to under ObamaCare. Be sure to send a thankyou card to Herb Kohl and Russ Feingold!

Just a couple months ago, Mayo said they were no longer accepting Medicare patients from Nebraska and another state.

As more medical facilities "go Gault", this will set up the Dems decrying them for not doing their duty and pushing for a single payer system that will leave Mayo and others with the option of shut down or work the govts game. It's only time. this is also why "passing anything" will be satisfactory for the Dems.

It is only through the grace of God that my husband (who was forced into Medicare in September) even has a doctor. One of his students takes Medicare patients and he made room for hubby. Need to keep your banjo teacher happy and healthy, doncha know!!

In our area it is almost impossible to find a doctor accepting Medicare patients. And I don't blame them one teeny, tiny bit!!

NB - I hate Medicare and wish it would go away!
