Abp. Listecki: The Bas-Relief Remains

It seems as though Abp Listecki will keep the bas-relief which depicts Mary as Mother of the Church (appropriate) and Abp. Weakland as a protector of children (laughably perverse.)

That's what one gleans from this interview.

Abp. Listecki hopes that Romanita --in this case, simply outlasting the opposition--will prevail.

Maybe.

I like the new Archbishop and wish him well, but it doesn't make any sense when the new Archbishop says that Rembert is not being honored by that bas-relief in the Cathedral. That's exactly what it is, and it is shameful.

I think there may be some higher up action that could be taken on Weakland. After the Weakland book, he clearly is bordering on excommunication. A popular canon lawyer Ed Peters argued such a while back. It may just be biding time until Weakland is officially removed or rebuked from the Vatican.
