One of the four sins crying to heaven for vengeance is murder, which includes abortion. So when there are prominent politicians who claim to be Catholic but persist in approval and financing of abortion, there is a Canon Law which pertains: 915.
Under 915, those who obstinately persist in grave sin (e.g., financing abortions) can be denied Holy Communion by the minister thereof. Logic tells us that a Bishop can forbid Holy Communion to public, obstinate, persistent sinners, and that Bishop also may make a public declaration of that denial.
Of course, that requires that a Bishop have the courage of their convictions, which is simply not the case with Bps. Cordileone and Wuerl, who more or less share jurisdiction over Nancy Pelosi, who today invoked St Francis in her 'work' of increasing funding for abortions (inter alia.)
(Maybe the Bishops don't want to draw attention to the sins crying to heaven for vengeance, eh? After all, another of them is sodomy.)
Hmmmm.
Well, cowards have been part of the Church for a long time, and God forbid that any of us are tested to the point of martyrdom. Still and all, it would be nice to see a Bishop or two step up to the plate and throw a lightning-bolt, ain'a??
