Photoshop, Illustrator--Whatever Happened to Xerox?

In the Good Old Days, there were Xerox machines. You wanna copy? You getta Xerox. It was all good.

Now there's stuff out there that ........does stuff.......that is very curious.

Gateway is among those who have questions about the long-form.

(Let me make something perfectly clear. I don't give a flying $%^&*&& about Obozo's citizenship. I DO care, Very Much, that Obozo's residence, beginning January 2013, is anyplace BUT the White House. Hawaii's nice that time of year, I hear.)

  1. 8 USC 1401. The President's mother was an American citizen who had been physically present in the United States for the requisite five years. Jus sanguinis therefore applies, even if you presuppose that jus soli does not, and the President is therefore an American citizen even if he was born on the planet Neptune.

  2. Commenter 1 has not done proper research. The 5 years don't start counting until Momma became an adult. Thus the continuing controversy.

  3. Read the statute, Headless. http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/8/1401.html

"(g) a person born outside the geographical limits of the United States and its outlying possessions of parents one of whom is an alien, and the other a citizen of the United States who, prior to the birth of such person, was physically present in the United States or its outlying possessions for a period or periods totaling not less than five years, at least two of which were after attaining the age of fourteen years"

    Try again.

  4. Is the the 1961 statute? The controversy would have dies long ago if it was that easy.

And so it had for those of us not indulging conspiracy theories involving faked birth certificates and phony newspaper announcements. But if you'd care to know more, Subsection (h) of Section 1401 extends jus sanguinis citizenship at birth to people born before noon on May 24, 1943 in specific circumstances, etc., etc. IN other words, this statute is considered to act retroactively.

The "five years, two of which" provision was amended in in 1986, but it doesn't matter, because the statute extends back retroactively. And remember, this all only applies if the unproven assertion that the president was born outside the US were somehow true.

I think you're on safer ground saying you disagree with the president, rather than entertaining some very fanciful hypotheses about his supposed illegitimacy, but that's just my opinion.

  6. Dad29 - Cool link. Before chasing conspiracies, there is a logical answer to the questions being raised there.

I read somewhere that Hawaii scanned all the original birth records (and possibly destroyed the paper copies). So to produce this document on 4/25/2011, the scanned version, which showed the remnant of the binding on the left, was printed on the standard green cross-hatch background. That's why the cross-hatches don't curve with the binding.

As for all the boxes showing editing of the PDF, that is a normal part of any digital conversion project. The documents are cleaned up as part of the process (this "value added" increases the billable cost of the project). At least that's the way it was done at the nuke plant.

The "Ukelele" bit is funny. I recall certain bored engineers slipping stuff into otherwise serious official plant documents. It is human nature to mess with things that seem to be not very important at the time.

  7. Funny, but Obama never used that legal argument. That would have shut-up Trump just as easily. He should have hired you to do his legal research. Either that, or you are wrong.

Anon blog poster or Obama's legal team? I'll let each of you make your own informed choice.

  8. They haven't made the argument because A) no judge has yet actually heard serious argument on this issue, nor are any going to in any case, and B) making my argument involves conceding something the president isn't willing to concede. 1401(g) only applies if the president was born outside the US. He wasn't, so 1401(g) isn't germane. It's only relevant when one is talking to conspiracy theorists who believe the whole thing is made up.

Honestly, I see why the president was reluctant to engage on this issue, and I kind of wish he hadn't bothered. There's no amount of evidence that will convince "birthers" that their position is false. So, I shall take my leave, seeing that I am getting nowhere. But I'll leave you with this thought: Compare your position to that of the 9/11 Truthers. Elaborate conspiracies? Check. Stupid partisan axe to grind? Check. Refusal to accept any evidence that undermines your positions? Check.

    Think on that.

    Regards, [R]

Then why the hell are you posting about Xeroxes and someone's "questions about the long-form?"

Are you the sort to just put stuff on your blog and then immediately disown it? Or are you just so desperate for any argument that hurts the president that you'll say and link to anything that you think gets you there? Or, confronted with evidence to the contrary of your position, do you simply lack the courage of your convictions? Which is it?

  10. I happen to find the topic interesting, bozo.

Obviously, you do too. In fact, it attracts you in a porno-sorta way, doesn't it?

  11. I happen to find the topic interesting, bozo.

    You're all class, Dad.

As for myself, I find it "interesting" in the same way I find 9/11 Truthers "interesting." Here is a group of people that will simply not admit they are wrong, no matter how much evidence you pile in front of them. And this isn't a matter of opinion we're talking about. It is a matter of fact and law. Your calling me names and feigning disinterest does nothing to change that.

  12. Speaking of "class," bozo:

Or are you just so desperate for any argument that hurts the president that you'll say and link to anything that you think gets you there?

The best argument against Obama is Obama. He doesn't need my help to beclown himself.

You could start your own blog, of course. You could order people to Be Classy, too.

  13. Before seeing the COLB, I was convinced Obama was born in Honolulu. After looking the PDF the White House posted at 400% magnification, I have become a Birther.

It is a fabricated document. Who did it? When? Why? What are they covering up?
