As usual, McCotter asks the right questions.
Bearing in mind that 'the Government' is NOT the same as 'private enterprise,' McCotter makes the case that the FedGov has become the equivalent of the 1970's GM: big, clunky, bureaucratic, and un-responsive. He calls it the "Great Society Model" of Government.
Noting that most businesses have switched to a smaller, less-centralized, far more agile and responsive model, he proposes that the same can and should be done in DC.
The "Constitution Debate" is highlighted by Sykes and voiced by Krauthammer, with a similar underlying concept:
Constitutionalism as a political philosophy represents a reformed, self-regulating conservatism that bases its call for minimalist government - for reining in the willfulness of presidents and legislatures - in the words and meaning of the Constitution.
Perhaps Leviathan's days are numbered. The question is whether Leviathan will be killed by external forces (the bond vigilantes), or the internal re-formation, which McCotter likens to a holistic diet regime.
