Sadly, this appears to be correct. (I say 'sadly' because he IS the President.)
Obama's most basic problem is that he has never been a thinker. He has not invested the years of hard work that are needed to develop coherent policy positions. Superficiality has always been good enough to get by for Obama, and now, when his policies are in tatters, he has neither a philosophical foundation nor a deep knowledge of the issues to fall back on. He is left staring into the headlights like a doomed deer.
And it comports with the "anonymous insider's" testimony reported last week.
What a load of manure!
ReplyDeleteThat about sums it up.
ReplyDeleteWhy do people feel the need to just make shit up at random and call it substance?
Well, OK boys.
ReplyDeleteShow me ONE original thought from Obama-the-thinker.
One will be sufficient.
*crickets*
ReplyDelete"Show me ONE original thought from Obama-the-thinker."
ReplyDeleteWho's to say what is original and what is not. I've read Dreams of My Father and The Audacity of Hope. There is plenty of original thinking in them.
Name one original thought from George W. Bush besides, "Fool me twice, won't get fooled again."
Jim - it is strongly suspected that those books were ghost written... Dreams FROM my Father by Bill Ayers...
ReplyDeleteHe outsourced every piece of legislation to Nancy/Obey and the Apollo Alliance.
Everyone touts how just so damned smart Obama is even though all college transcripts remain under lock and key. So really - other than raise taxes on the ever-changing threshold of rich people and spend gobs of money we don't have.. what's he got?
'Scuse me: Did I CLAIM that GWB was a thinker?
ReplyDeleteWho's to say what is original and what is not. I've read Dreams of My Father.... There is plenty of original thinking in them.
ReplyDeleteDFMF was a good book. I think that much ought to be conceded by anyone.
How original it was in terms of thought is another question. Experience was original, because experience always is; but you'd be hard pressed to find much new ground broken in DFMF compared with, say, Ralph Ellison's The Invisible Man.
Originality isn't everything, of course. The best thinker, if he's honest, finds that he is following well-mapped trails. Descartes, for example, in saying: Cogito, ergo sum? As Dad and I were discussing elsewhere, he followed both Avicenna and, earlier still, St. Augustine in coming up with that problem set, and that particular solution.
That doesn't mean he didn't add something to the discussion in his re-examination. What did Obama add?
It's not so much that Obama doesn't think, it's that his views have no basis in logic or workable outcome.
ReplyDeleteLike most leftists, he bases policy decisions in feeling rather than what would work.
Somebody needs to outsource a hit on Jim.
ReplyDeleteHe makes Zach Wisniewski's waterhead seem like Mensa material.
