Not only does Arne Duncan want a bunch of money to "save teachers."
He wants it 'off-the-books'---not counting towards any 'paygo' requirements.
...the Education Department is asking for off-the-books emergency funding to keep local districts from laying off school teachers next school year.
Education Secretary Arne Duncan sent Democratic lawmakers a request Thursday to pass a $26 billion emergency supplemental to fund up to 300,000 teachers' jobs that he says will otherwise be lost in the fall.
Po' Jay and his comrades have nothing to worry about.
But YOU do.
While you're on the linked page (Legal Insurrection) be sure to write down the definition of "Greece Syndrome," which is operative everywhere except in New Jersey and advanced societies such as PRChina, Russia, and Cuba.
Funding education like we funded the wars? Can the pot see the kettle from where it sits, old codger?
ReplyDeleteUnless my math is off, that's over $85,000 per teacher.
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought teachers didn't make any money.
And what happens the next year.
ReplyDeleteIn Vegas, they threaten to layoff hundreds of teachers. The teachers gave up their step raises for years of experience and lo and behold no teachers will be laid off.
This is just a scam about laying off teachers. Most school will give notices about laying off teachers but most will not lay off any teachers because they somehow find the money.
As a teacher, I see so many scams involving teacher pay and lay offs.
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
