Neumann Goes Bizarro

Sykes mentions that Mark Neumann has gone flippers.

Neumann also declined to respond to sharp criticism from Scott Walker campaign manager Keith Gilkes, who wrote in an e-mail yesterday that Neumann has threatened to run as an independent if the Republican grassroots didn’t drop their support of Walker. Gilkes wrote in the letter that Neumann made a similar threat to “a member of our Congressional delegation,” though the letter does not identify who.

Let's put the cards on the table.

Neumann had a good record in Congress, although the quirky "I must hunt with my son and skip a really important vote" thing turned out to be a sign of things to come.

Following his term in Congress, Neumann appeared a number of times as a guest-host for Belling. Although his shows were enjoyable, he was quirky there, too. He always brought his wife Sue into the studio with him, and frequently asked for her input and/or approval on his thoughts.

Huh? What's with that?

The current campaign began very badly; it seemed as though Neumann was attempting to sell his houses instead of selling his political philosophy. His ads left the distinct impression that he was an out-of-the-closet GreenWacky.

While we all understand the need to conserve energy and other natural resources, Neumann came across as a zealot on the issue, not a common-sense kinda guy. Then the "buy my houses" message was layered into the mix, too; it appeared as though Neumann hadn't made up his mind as to whether he was running for office or trying to get more buyers for his green houses.

Huh? What's with THAT?

Then came the "Walker should run for Lt. Gov." crap, and next came the mind-games with (R) convention delegates over supporting Walker at the convention.

Now noises about an "independent" run and ankle-biting a sitting (R) Congressman?

We're past asking "What's with that?"

We know.

Neumann's elevator doesn't go all the way to the top of the building any more. The lights are on, but nobody's home. He's a couple cans short of a 12-pack. His transmission doesn't have a 3rd gear. He's wacky, folks.

Thanks for your service in Congress, Mark. Now just go sell green houses, and keep the tax-credits. After all, that's where the money is.

You'll do just fine. And we will, too, without you in office.

  1. If the GOP picks him as gubernatorial candidate, I am done with them. :)

  2. You pretty much nailed it.

    I agree.

  3. We should've known something like this was up when the old-guard guy who recruited him with the express purpose of stopping Walker bolted to Walker's camp along with his wife.

  4. This stinks of Crist/Rahm.

All this "independent" bullshit floating out there scares the daylights outta me.

He takes away enough votes, we get lost in the wilderness for another four years with a "tax and spend" empty suit liberal by the name of Barrett.

If Walker doesn't make it, we'll see more businesses leave and I'll pack up with them and go to.

  5. Disgruntled--Don't let the door hit you in the...

So much for "democracy" or "representation". People run for office for a political party, and the "experts" run roughshod over the perceived threat. I would like to see that printed letter with the accusations.

Neumann has every right to point out Walker's major flaws. Perhaps he is sick of the political good ol'boyzzz network that running independent is a good idea. Isn't that in the spirit of the Tea Partiers??? You know, offer CHOICES to the electorate???

  6. "Indy" is not the question.

Neumann's simply not a good candidate, whether Indy, (R), (D), or Constitution Party.

But yes, he has the right to run. More power to him.

  7. Interesting how Neumann's detractors throw around the word the "zealot" when it comes to some of his views, but when Walker expouses his positions, his ideas "make sense".

Let the voters decide whether or not he is a "good" candidate!

  8. Neumann is a lying sack.

"Walker is going to run for Lt. Gov!"

"Walker and Barrett are one in the same, they're both from Milwaukee!"

And, Neumann is a nut job on the Green front.

"Doyle's Green Policies don't go FAR enough!"

Thanks, but no thanks. Neumann is blatantly lying about and misrepresenting a conservative who has frozen property taxes in Milwaukee county. Walker's record of being a real conservative can stand on that.

If Neumann IS a real conservative and/or believes in any Republican party ideals, he won't run as an independent. Neumann running as an independent all but guarantees the seat for Barrett. But then, anony, that is why you'd love to see him run as an independent. I mean, c'mon, you're towing the "tea party" ideals? GTFOH!

Like Daddio said, he is more than welcome to run for the Republican nomination. Lying and slinging mud won't get him anywhere and certainly won't get him the nomination. The tea party conservatives in this state know better.

As for not letting the door... You better believe I'll pack up and move outta here if Tommy and the lefties own this already tax hell hole for another 4 years. When there is no one left here but FIBs hunting "up north" in 10 years, make sure YOU turn out the lights.

  9. So just that I'm clear... its a problem when Neumann's campaign "spreads rumors" about Walker running as Lt. Gov... but its not a problem when Walker's campaign spreads rumors about Neumann running as an Independent?

    Huh? What's with THAT?

  10. Exactly, Nick.

But as you may have noticed, my concerns about Neumann go FAR beyond his propensity to spread rumors.

BTW, Weber swears that MULTIPLE sources repeated the same terminology about the 'indy' run.

Are they all on Walker's payroll, Nick?
