Team USA v Belgium

 We don't watch soccer.  But we DID watch the last two USA matches. And one does not have to be a soccer-genius to understand the problem last night:

The US played most of the first half on their own side of the field.

Good defense--mostly.  But scoring still counts, and you do that on THEIR side of the damn field. 

HA!!  A well-known soccer player agrees with Dad29.

 

 ... The primary correlation with winning in soccer is shots on target, not time of possession. Anything you’re doing that reduces shots on target is reducing your chance of winning. The USA had 56% possession, lost the shots on target contest 7-2, and lost 4-1....
