It would appear that the President is beginning to lose his grip on "populism."
In recent days....
1) He declared that the Feds should 'take over' elections. He's not student of the Constitution, but even he should be able to find the plain, black-letter text in that document which rejects his intent. The Press Office scrambles and says that Trump 'really meant' that the SAVE Act should be made into law. Well, maybe--but that's not what he said.
2) He ordered 'all Federal agencies' to help find Samantha Guthrie's mom. This is stupid, in one word. The FEEBS joined the pursuit two days ago; they are the ONLY appropriate Fed agency at this time. Besides that, if it were not that Samantha Guthrie is an attractive New York TeeVee star, would Trump order "all Fed agencies" to join into the investigation? Hell, no.
3) His D.C. law-lady--someone named Pirro--has declared that if you make the mistake of carrying in D.C., you will be prosecuted--UNLESS you are a resident of D.C., in which case, 'shit happens, move on.'
4) He has expressed disappointment that the Epstein papers are out in the open. He is concerned that "good people' will be harmed. Is there a "good" pedophile?
But let us distinguish here. There are dozens of 'good people' who are mentioned in the emails, or seen in pictures, etc. Anyone who knows anything about high society--the one Trump ran in--knows that everybody knows everybody, but only in that rarified atmosphere. So yes. There will be mentions of people who were never involved in criminal activity, but who happened to be at the same charity ball or nightclub at the same time as Epstein.
That said, the term "pattern of practice" comes into play. Habitual bad boys and bad girls are knows because "habitual." That's why the top dog (I use that word carefully--as in "horndog") at Paul, Weiss, resigned his position yesterday. He knew that others knew.........
5) His self-aggrandizement is becoming nauseating. We can see and know what you've done, Donald. Please STFU about it. You forget, Donald, that 99% of US citizens do NOT live in Metro D.C.--and that 90% of US citizens do not live in D.C., NYC, or LA. Screw those jackasses, Donald. Just do the right thing and keep your mouth shut.
End rant.
“He declared that the Feds should 'take over' elections”
ReplyDeleteHe’s a fascist. No surprise. But you would jump on board if that guaranteed a third term for him.
“The FEEBS joined the pursuit two days ago; they are the ONLY appropriate Fed agency at this time”
You’ve repeatedly indicated the FBI cannot be trusted in such matters, that they are overall incompetent. And yet you insist it must be involved? Let the state police forces handle the situation. Chances are, they won’t bungle it.
“if you make the mistake of carrying in D.C., you will be prosecuted”
Or shot dead just for merely having it on your person. No big deal.
“He knew that others knew.”
Trump does, too. That’s why he ordered the redactions. Too many of his friends did unsavory things to underage girls.
“His self-aggrandizement is becoming nauseating.”
It ALWAYS was nauseating. But that’s your style anyways.
Capper? Posting from MPLS again, without your sign-in handy?
ReplyDeleteHow's the pay???
"He's not student of the Constitution, but even he should be able to find the plain, black-letter text in that document which rejects his intent."
ReplyDeleteArt I Sec 4 explicitly authorizes Congress to change whatever it wants except for one thing:
"The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators."
The Founders, if I understand correctly, were worried the states just wouldn't set up any regulations and so elections wouldn't be possible. They gave Congress almost plenary authority to 'make or alter such regulations' as a guard against this.
Elections for members of Congress are run by the states, in accordance with the Constitution's Article 1, which also allows for Congress to pass federal regulations. States run voter registration, ballot-counting and fraud prevention, among other election responsibilities.
DeleteMore proof Trump is sliding. Noem must go back to the kitchen. She’s an embarrassment.
