Tony "Mr. Silly" Evers Vetoes Common Sense

"Mr. Silly" Tony Evers appears to have Oppositional Defiance Disorder.

He issues vetoes on common-sense legislation and makes up silly B.S. excuses.

How bad it it?

... Evers ... vetoed a bill that would've banned the use of government money to provide healthcare to illegal immigrants....

...State Sen. Van Wanggaard (R-Racine) responded to that veto, accusing Evers of allowing for the state to one day provide healthcare funding for undocumented immigrants.

"There is literally only one reason to veto this bill - you want illegal aliens to have taxpayer-funded health care," Wanggaard said in a statement. "This bill didn't take health care away from anyone”...

Note that Wanggaard did not challenge Mr. Silly's assertion that 'no illegals were obtaining free healthcare at this time'.  Maybe they are--but Mr Silly's cabal won't release any information to the Feds.  And--of course--the Legislature will not order its Audit Bureau to investigate.  Wanggaard knows better than to poke that bear.  Can you spell "D-A-I-R-Y  I-N-T-E-R-E-S-T-S"??

...The governor also rejected a pair of education-related bills. One would have required school boards and districts to allow military recruiters in high schools; the other would have allowed student teachers to get credit for summer programs in place of spending a semester in a classroom....

Mr. Silly's military veto is just spiteful Leftiness  The Left hates the military because its members are largely patriots.  As to the summer-program veto, DPI would have had an option.  There was no "requirement" in that bill.  Mr. Silly then produced a laugh-line:

..."I object to potentially reducing the duration and rigor of student teaching," Evers wrote in his veto message. "Which is a critically important part of ensuring our future educators have the qualifications and experience to educate, empower, and inspire our kids." ...

Just like they do in the Milwaukee and Madison publkk screwels, Gov'nor??

Mr. Silly also vetoed a bill which would require owners of "comfort animals" to show an MD's prescription for that animal.  At this time, landlords are required to allow "comfort animals" (which can include ANY bird or animal) into a tenant's quarters.  Here, Channel 6 has done the spadework:

... Assembly Bill 366 would also have allowed housing providers to ask for proof of medical necessity with documentation, like a prescription. FOX6 Investigators previously highlighted the discrepancies in the process....

...Evers said he wants to prevent fraudulent representation but vetoed the bill because he felt it unfairly affects people with disabilities who have legitimate needs....

Pure O.D.D. Silliness.  Evers--once again--vetoes common sense and joins the Federal Government in forcing landlords (another Public Enemy to Leftists) to accept property damage as part of their rental agreementThat's another good way to raise the cost of living; landlords will compensate by raising the rent.

Speaking of raising the cost of living......Mr. Silly goes there again!!!

...[Tony "Mr. Silly" Evers vetoed AB 450]which would have delayed the Department of Professional and Safety Services from enforcing building standards based on the 2021 , passed both legislative houses with bipartisan votes before reaching the governor’s desk. The codes were published in August following a ruling this summer, and DSPS delayed enforcement twice following feedback from the building industry....

There is no better way to raise the cost of buildings (thus, rent) than to impose "international standards" on builders and/or owners of properties.  The "affordability" issue in this country is an issue created by "expert" regulators (Statists) who demand "improvements" claiming "safety" or "environmental" needs require them.  (For example, you are seeing HUGE increases in your electric bill due to "green" demands.  Can you afford those new rates?  Yah, well--Democrats made it happen.)

By and large, these requirements are dictated to lawmakers and regulators by special interests such as labor unions or manufacturers of "Green" crapola.  That's the crowd that "Mr. Silly" Evers is playing to, because that's the crowd that pays Democrats the most.  (Not to worry--special interest groups also pay Republicans a lot.  The special interests will always get their way and to Hell with the common man.)

We all know better than to accept Mr Silly's Oppositional Defiance Disorder excuses.  The good news?  He will be gone soon, taking the REAL Governor--an ethics-challenged lesbian activist--with him.
