Needed Badly: Parents Who CARE

Tells you all you need to know about some people.

The Milwaukee Health Department and Milwaukee Public Schools hosted a second free lead testing clinic Wednesday at North Division High School.

The health department said it had the capacity to test 300 students. Fewer than 25 came.

District-wide, close to 400 students have been screened.

"249 through our first mass clinic. And then in total, with all the additional clinics that Children's Wisconsin and 16th Street Community Health Centers have offered, we've seen just shy of 400 students. That's a very small percentage of the total student body," Milwaukee Health Commissioner Mike Totoraitis said.

Milwaukee Public Schools has close to 70,000 students....

Yes, MPS is a horrible outfit.  But it's becoming clear that there are a lot of horrible "parents" in that system, too.
