In the middle of an essay remarking on the Right's happiness with Putin, Gottfried has this:
...Putin makes no attempt to accommodate Western leftist hegemony and, in fact, enjoys making fun of it. While he restores monasteries and defends his nation’s Orthodox faith, he also deals ruthlessly with his enemies and doesn’t hesitate to try to take back territories that once belonged to his country. No world leader (except possibly for Donald Trump) stands in such striking contrast to the present Western European and Canadian gynocracy, in which unsexed feminists co-rule with effeminate, politically correct men....
The red-highlighted text is a fine insight, usually un-spoken by Actual Conservatives.
Unfortunately, Gottfried's essay carries just a whiff of the "must. defend. Ukraine." smell which is always present in under-informed chatter. IOW, Gottfried, for all his good intentions and insights, does not refer to the all-important question: "What Are the US' VITAL NATIONAL INTERESTS IN UKRAINE?"
There are none. One does not have to like Putin to dislike the US' inane involvement in this war. One does not have to hate Zelenskiy (or his tattered-and-torn population) to understand that there is no good reason for US involvement other than to the Wall Street and London bankers who sloppily salivate at the prospect of "rebuilding" Ukraine for immense profit.
But there is another largely-unremarked fact which Gottfried mentions: Israel really, really, wants the US to care about Ukraine. You may ask "Why?"
That is a very good question. Ask your Congressman.

To highlight the issue: consider that the most significant effort to cut government spending (DOGE) is set to yield $50 billion in annual savings. Awesome… until you realise that this is on the back of a $7.5 trillion budget. They haven’t even managed to cut 0.75% of spending. Furthermore, the US has to borrow over 10% of GDP annually to keep the lights on.
Now they’re weaponizing the dollar and trade in a desperate attempt to “Make America Great Again.” The rest of the world is preparing.

Japan’s top court has rejected an appeal by a Japanese-born U.S. citizen challenging the constitutionality of the country’s ban on dual citizenship, finalizing lower court rulings.
The decision by the Supreme Court’s First Petty Bench, dated Monday, was on a claim that Article 11 of the Nationality Law, which stipulates the loss of Japanese nationality upon voluntarily acquiring a foreign nationality, infringes on the right to self-determination.
The Fukuoka District Court turned down the initial claim in 2023, noting that the law was appropriate and was not beyond the scope of discretion. The Fukuoka High Court also supported the first decision last year.
According to the ruling, the woman acquired U.S. citizenship in 2004. She applied for a Japanese passport in 2017, but her application was rejected the following year on the grounds that she had lost her Japanese nationality.
This is an interesting rejection of Clown World’s anti-nationalist campaign, particularly because the Japanese constitution was imposed upon Japan by the US occupiers after World War II. It’s a strong indication that the dual-citizenship effectively created by the US Supreme Court decision in Afroyim v. Rusk, 387 U.S. 253 (1967) was both incorrect and inappropriately utilized in an excessively expansive manner to create a supra-national individual right that does not and should not exist.
Being ruled by foreigners is not only a curse in the Bible, it is a common late stage in empires that usually presages an eventual collapse.…..,,,,,
